According to the New York Post, the perverts have been able to convince some advertisers not to want ads on Savage's show.
According to the Post, "Spokesmen for Dell, Casual Male and Idea Village said their commercials aren't slotted for specific shows but told The Post they've now asked time buyers to keep their ads off Savage's program."
This is intolerable. As Savage said in an earlier Post article:
-----------
"I'm not Dr. Laura and I'm not going to lift my skirts and run,"
"If we let these bastards win, they will have elevated themselves to being a de facto national television censorship board,"
The article listed Dell computers as being afraid of the perverts, but according to Mother Jones, Michael Dell, CEO, contributed $200,000 to the Republican election committe, and according to NPR, "He is a friend and contributor to Republican Texas Gov. George W. Bush."
So who knows if the weeenies in the ad department even know what their boss thinks?
Another corporation is Designs Inc., which owns Casual Male.
The other corporation they mentioned was Idea Village.
These corporations have been convinced to not avertise on Savage's MSNBC show, which makes the perverts the "de facto national television censorship board."
Let these corporations know how you think.

Then there are e-mails:

Here's the e-mail for Dell's spokesperson:
jon_weisblatt@dell.com
Of course you could always just contact the main Dell phone #s and e-mail address on their main pages.
Anyone considering purchasing a Dell should think of an alternative.
I got news for you.
I'm a Republican, and I think Savage is a nut case. His egomaniacal rantings get old quickly. And I'd wager there are lots of Republicans who feel the same way.
If I were Michael Dell, I would never have agreed to advertise on this fruitcake's show in the first place.
Savage is not a conservative; he's a populist with some fascist leanings. Why he's as popular as he is is beyond me.
But, then, I don't get Howard Stern either.
Seems like they do some times. Savage will be gone in 3 weeks and they will pay off the balance of his contract if its true that all national advertisers have bailed out on him.
I think there is a major difference between a handful of Freepers sending a terse email to a company threatening to personally boycott a product and a national organization's similar efforts. Your email will likely be read and promptly deleted by some low level staffer. GLAAD and the NAACP exist for this kind of crap, they have plenty of pony-tailed sniveling lawyers who get paid to do this all day long. They know what buttons to push with the advertisers to get the right response - lawsuit threats, threats of national ad campaigns against them, working deals with competitors for all GLAAD/NAACP members.
MSNBC, FOX, CNN are in business to create programs that bring a large audience to a group of advertisers. When either group doesn't show up the show is over.
Oh please! You are now showing how little you know of this subject.
This kind of approach has been used for liberals for years (ala Jessie Hai Jackson). These groups started this movement BEFORE any advertisers even considered buying ads. One group vowed to keep him off the air "at any costs". In other words, we the people are just to plain STUPID to know what is best for us, so the liberals will decide what speech is free and what speech should be banned.
Here is how it should work: If the show gets good ratings, the show stays on the air. If the show gets poor ratings, the show gets cancelled.
Here is how it should NOT work: If the show (host) gives opinions that some do not agree with, do not let it on the air. If the show (host) agrees with everything liberals believe, then it can be broadcast.
Wow, talk about censorship and ignoring freedom of speech.
Wake Up!
But, I don't want to see the fags run him out of town. That's not acceptable. No need to embolden the gay lobby any more than it is.
Unfortunately, when he does fail under his own weight, they will be righ tthere to take the credit for it. Call it a (ahem) "blow against homophobia!" and such things.
But more to the point, where are conservative advertisers who should be flocking to Savage's show? Who needs P&G or Sharper Image or Dell? Where are the hair restoration products, libido products, business opportunity promoters that populate so many conservative shows to support this guy?
Regardless of what he says, look at the way he says it.
He's mean and shrill, he's intentionally rude and will say anything to make the phones ring.
These companies have a great deal invested in developing, marketing and protecting their brand. I wouldn't blame them a bit if they don't want to risk it on Mike Savage.
Look at what happens when a brand deteroriates. The perceptions stick with a customer for a long time and many times even fly in the face of the facts.
Will you ever look at NIKE or "Martha Stewart" products the same?
This is not "censorship." The government is not involved.
If some members of the free market put pressure on advertisers not to advertise on a particular show, what's wrong with that? Advertisers don't like controversy. And there's no more controversial personality than Michael Savage.
In addition, no more than 5% of the American public is even aware of Savage's show. Almost nobody watches MSNBC and even fewer Americans are going to sit down on a Saturday afternoon to view an obnoxious talk show.
Some people don't work on television. Alan Keyes didn't, Dr. Laura didn't, Phil Donahue didn't.
Savage won't either.
But, at least it might bring in a viewer or two more than MSNBC Investigates.
Why would tens of millions of conservatives go to the wall for Michael Savage?
If this was about Rush Limbaugh, you bet, I'd join in.
But Michael Savage's conservative bona fides are unproven, IMO. He hasn't earned the benefit of my keystrokes in his defense.
It's precisely because companies are concerned with their bottom line that they will bolt at the first sign of controversy, especially controversy involving the gay community. And the majority of Americans don't want to hear about gay controversy either.
We hate it when they do it with their jackels, yet so many of us will swarm to protect ours.
