Thousands of patriots brave fridgid weather for Rally for America- Omaha

The weather was cold but the spririt warm in Omaha as over 5000 (early AP estimate) people from 7 states braved 19 deg. temps and 25mph winds to attend the Rally for America sponsored by KFAB radio. This superb event included thousands of flags, loud USA chants, the correct version of the pledge, A PRAYER!!! plus some great speeches from fmr. SenatorBob Kerry and Tuskegee airman Col. Lane among others. It was a great day to be an American and a proud Freeper. Pictures to follow when available.

Was there & had a great time lots of patriotism & with the nasty weather ie predicted 45+ sunny calm what we got ---20's with a touch of snow & a "light"but steady breeze around 15mph you saw folks sharing blankets & thermos of coffee/hot chocolate especially to make certain the little ones where warm & snug 8^) Came home after the rally & found the mailman had delivered my new Dixie Gun Works catalog so as far as I'm concerned today has been a great day.

Omaha is my hometown...I was born there, and raised for the most part in Ralston.

It's real good to know it's still full of patriots.

I was assigned to Offutt AFB from September 1978 until January 1980.

I grew up in the flight path to Offutt, and it was VERY active back in those days...as it was still Strategic Air Command HQ.

The planes came over every 10 to 20 minutes, very low.

After awhile, a person just tuned it out...you barely noticed.

We lived in Belleview, Nebraska for a year and the rest of the time in base housing very close to the runway and right unter the revolving airport light.

Went right by there a million times...my Dad lived in Plattsmouth for many years until he passed on.

Drove cab in Belleview for a short time...the cabstand was right outside the main gate.

Went to many of the yearly airshows...saw the first B-1 delivered to the AF on the day they had the ceremony---AWESOME!---and even saw the shuttle Columbia once there...they flew it around and landed on the back of its 747.

That little memory has alot more meaning now, as you might imagine.
