A Fox News Ad Roils Some Readers of The Nation By THE NEW YORK TIMES
Many readers of The Nation, a magazine of the political left, seek shelter in its pages from what they consider the news media's conservative bias. So executives at the magazine anticipated some criticism when they accepted a full-page advertisement from the Fox News channel, one of those outlets considered to fall in the enemy camp.
What they did not expect after accepting a back-page ad (and $8,100) from Fox News was roughly 250 vehemently angry letters, e-mail messages and phone calls, and more than 50 subscription cancellations.
"The words that they're using are outraged, shocked, confused, absolutely appalled, dismayed and dumbfounded," said Ellen Bollinger, vice president for advertising at the magazine.
One e-mail message even read, "It is like an ad for Klan News."

Holy-moly! The Nation's readers seem to be anything but fair and balanced!

Liberals shoot themselves in the head... this is too funny seeing them cancel their subscriptions to The Nation after it bought advertising on FOX!

I've said this privately, but will say it here..
The Demons have NO CLUE what is about to befall them.
The greatest defeat in electoral history is coming. And they don't know it.
I predict SEVERAL Senate seat losses, and 10+ House losses. This far out.
They have LOST the propaganda game. The dominant meme is capitalist, and pro-defense.... not socialist and weakling.

But I'm not impressed at all, are you?
Hell, we could get that "done" in half a day here at FR. :-)

National Review ran ads for "ThomasPaine.com", or .org I don't remember, which is so far left it makes Nancy Pelosi look moderate. I think it's run by Bill Moyers' PBS-paid-for son.
I didn't care and I didn't see any backlash.
I love the fact the idiots on the left now think there is a "right-wing bias" in the "media" when what they really are saying is, "dangit, they cracked our monopoly on news and analysis"!
As the Tim Russert interview with Heir Albright last weekend showed, the left isn't used to being questioned and held accountable for their words and stances. Once confronted, they hem and haw and wiggle in their seats.

I suppose an ad from the RNC is out of the question now.

The image of Albright "wiggling in her seat" is not conducive to good health.

The scumbag liberals had a monopoly on the dissemination of the news for decades. Americans got to see one of three networks, one of three liberal newscasts every evening over the dinner table, and there simply was no alternative. One cannot underestimate the damage that was done to our culture and to our society during that time.
Now that there is talk radio, the internet, cable and satellite TV, and Fox News, the liberals and the relics of the old media are beside themselves with anguish, frustration, and desperation. They don't know what to do, so many resort to the kind of irrational behavior described in the article.
This is one of the funniest pieces I ever read. I'm surprised the Gray Old Whore played it pretty straight.

"..think it's run by Bill Moyers' PBS-paid-for son..." You are right about Saint Moyers spawn hanging out at Tom Paine, however 99% of Tom Paines money comes from a foundations, run by, Bill Moyers. Most of the money is spent on weekly New York (sub)Times ads in the editorial pages. The New York Times then goes and praises Bill Moyers. One big circle jerk.

Maybe they should practice some of that tolerance they preach. AMEN! Those nutburgers always go on about how they champion diversity and free speech, but when they're confronted with an opinion that differs from their own, look out!
Once again the Left shows that their hypocrisy knows no bounds...

Plus a whole lot of four-letter words that she's not telling us about. ;-)

"Many readers of The Nation, a magazine of the political left..." These readers would not be offended by an ad from CNN, NBC, CBS, ABC, etc, because the political affiliation/beliefs are quite similar. No! Wait! There's no liberal-left media bias, only Fox on the conservative-right.
To: BurbankKarl
One e-mail message even read, "It is like an ad for Klan News." There's a story here for a magazine whose purpose were something other than propaganda. Questions to be addressed include: What part of The Nation's readership agrees with characterizations such as this; Would they characterize CBSABCNBCCNNPBS they same way; Why are they so angry that Fox News exists?
I'm sure they have no interest, however, I wonder why Fox doesn't do the story.
