independent.co.kr ^ | 02/07/03 | N/A

The former president Kim Young-Sam along with other well-known figures delivered a stinging speech against Kim Dae-Jung government on Feb. 7, 2003.

Caption says:
"Don't slither away from what 70% of public demands"
"YS makes the Declaration on the Current Situation"
"DJ should be punished according to the law"
(note:
YS --> the press lingo for Kim Young-Sam, the former president
DJ --> the same for Kim Dae-Jung, the soon-to-be out-going president)

The participants in the declaration:

at the podium, Kim Young-Sam, the former president

on his right, Kim Dong-gil, the former presidential candidate, professor emeritus of Yonsei University.

on the far right, Park Hong, catholic priest, the former president of Sogang University.

TOPICS: Extended News; Foreign Affairs; News/Current Events; Politics/Elections
KEYWORDS: bribe; crisis; nkorea; nuke; spy; treason
Excerpts from the communique

"The current N. Korean nuclear crisis is the work of Kim Jong-Il, the traitor to Koreans, and Kim Dae-Jung, who paid him the money to do it."

"Every detail on all bribes given to Kim Jong-Il for the last five years should be made public to S. Koreans."

"Those accused of grand treason now insist that this scandal should be brushed aside. What an outrageous thing to say !"

"If Kim Dae-Jung is not punished for this according to the law, nobody should be punished for anything."

"Anybody who secretly funnels astronomical amounts of money to the dictator of the enemy nation must be a spy."

"We had 50 years of peace after the Korean War not because we threw money at N. Koreans but because we had a solid alliance with America and people had the firm understanding of national security."

"Because Kim Dae-Jung has recklessly thrown money to Kim Jung-Il for the last five years, now we failed to create peace. Instead we have N. Korean nuclear crisis and her military buildup."

"There should be no political deal for the crime of grand treason which ate away the entire country. This is nothing more than a filty and ugly backroom deal."

"More than 70% of public are calling for the punishment of president Kim Dae-Jung. We should never cover up this scandal."

In other words, 1.5 millions fanatical Commie StormTroopers isn't something you play around with. They're learning this lesson the "hard way".

Buck up friends, it could have been worse. Your President could have been Clinton or Gore.

I'll join you a bump. The south Korean people were lulled into the same sleep of the 'soon to be dead' by the same song the Clinton administration used on this country. They are just waking up a little more abruptly than our nation has and they are suddenly in a far worse and unforgiving mood.

Maybe one day the truth of the treasonous damage done to our national security by the Clintons will actually sink in here, as well.

This is an important post. I am going to call it to a few people's attention.

I think it quite likely that the bribe to the north was engineered by The Sink Emperor.

I would be willing to bet that X42 and Madeline Albright are deeply involved in this deal, After all..... They signed us tax payers for the payoff as well. Just look at the cash N. Korea got from us since the Clinton/Carter framework agreement.

I'm tellin ya, It will take years to assess all the damage Clinton has done to our National Security because of refusal to take a stand on any single issue during his reign of disgrace

Its interesting that someone is speaking out about the funneling of cash to NK.

I haven't heard anything further on this subject for a few days..........and NOTHING, of course from Rather, Brokaw et al.

From your mouth to, hopefully, millions of American ears. You're right. The world is a far dangerous place now than it was before Pee Wee and his clan turned the White House into a bordello.

Potentially useful. The incoming president ratified DJ's policy and represents the factions which think they benefit from it. If he can be coerced into whacking DJ and his cronies, maybe. IMO additional, irrefutable, evidence of official repudiation of DJ's policies would be necessary to placate Republican activist opinion and the U.S. government.

""We had 50 years of peace after the Korean War not because we threw money at N. Koreans but because we had a solid alliance with America and people had the firm understanding of national security."

Yep - and you guys stood back, did nothing, and watched it go down the drain.

N. Korea is finding out that it's "blackmail diplomacy" isn't going as well as expected - we aren't buying.

Russia is a strong influence on Kim Il Jong as Stalin was his father's (Kim Il Sung - who is still the declared leader of N. Korea) idol and personally hand picked Il Sung to run N. Korea after the Korean war.

I'm sure some Kim Il Sung's admiration for Stalin rubbed off on Il Sung.
