CPAC Wrap up: FR Victory
Me | 2/3/2003 | Diotima

CPAC 2003 was an unqualified success. Every member of the forum should be proud of the fabulous team of volunteers who spent the last four days working the CPAC event on behalf of Free Republic.

First and foremost, the ACU and CPAC staff were generous and accomodating. Ian Walters,Peter Cleary and the event staff extended every courtesy imaginable. I ask everyone in attendence at the event to write a thank you letter to the ACU and mention their hard work.

ACU
1007 Cameron Street
Alexandria, VA 22314

Second, Libertina and Firebrand did an outstanding job of managing the booth. Exit148, Badray, MAF, Dixie Sass, Taxman, abner, VOC, Interesting Times, cacique, Nick Danger, Pod, freethehostages, hellinahandcart, Constitution Day, bert, wismypresident and every one who helped run the booth: I can not thank you enough. (I haven't slept for awhile..I know I am leaving people out and I apologize in advance.)It was great to meet the people I have worked so closely with all this time.

Registered: It was great to meet you. (Reg=Harvey the invisible pookah)

RadioFR: I am so proud of RadioFR. The Shrew and The Glaswegian sat and interviewed an unbelievable amount of people. There were LINES of personalities waiting to be interviewed almost the entire time. These men did not even get up to eat their meals, they were so busy interviewing the likes of Mark Levin, Michelle Malkin, David Keene, David Horowitz, Grover Norquist and the *fabulous* Brent Bozell. Stay tuned for information regarding broadcast times.

Bob J: There would be no FR presence at CPAC if it weren't for Bob J. The FRN board and Bob have worked tirelessly this last year and a half to build relationships with the ACU, Townhall, and other organizations to be revealed in a star studded announcement coming soon. LOL. The FR CPAC booth is entirely funded by the FRN. Our warm reception by the other CPAC sponsors and the CPAC panelists is a testament to all FReepers and plenty of behind the scenes work. So, to Bob, I say thank you and to my fellow FRN Board and Executive Team members, I salute you.

Abner: A special thanks to you for keeping me grounded (if that is possible.) I'm typing this from my brand new Sony Vaio Laptop!!!!! (Gumby is going to sleep soon. Finally.)

Some of my favorite moments were: meeting Ken Starr in the green room, meeting Donaldson and Novak (and watching Donaldson call in for more information to his news room on the Shuttle tragedy, when I had more information because I was reading FR and we SCOOPED the mainstream media!!!!) and I had a nice conversation with Lucianne, who came over to Radio FR with a warm welcome.

Soon we will get the photos off Bob's camera and post them here.

Yeah, I broke down, I had about 600 e-mails at work this morning so I figured it was time to bite the bullet and ditch in the Dell/paper weight/Fischer-Price laptop.

If you freepmailed me or emailed me the last 6 days, I am sorry for not getting back to you.

Thanks Diotima! All we did was set 'em up, and FReepers knocked 'em down!

BTW - Lucianne also came up to me with some nice comments. I publically apologize to her, her staff and her website for any rash comments I made a couple years ago...heheh.

All's well that ends well and what matters is we work as a team of conservative interests to defeat liberalism as a significant cultural influence in America. That's why I'm here, and I'm sure it's why we all do what we do.

Thanks for being so gracious, Trixie.

I don't really NEED a DVD burner.

Never underestimate the need for an over abundance of technology.

And kudos to you as well, for handling all the advance work and making sure the FR booth would be in the perfect position, in the oversized slot on the corner right next to the book signings. Not to mention the four days of work on-site.

We're starting to have a fairly significant impact on CPAC. There were probably more than 100 freepers in attendence, and other booths were hosted by Taxman, Seeking the Truth, and the Second Amendment Sisters. Not to mention the booth the DC Chapter acquired after the Weekly Standard failed to show up.

I also understand they know who we are over at the DNC.
