I can't wait until he has to retire and the governor has "no choice" but to appoint the Torch to be his replacement.

Liberals don't have a brain, they have a "center of feeling".

This is not exactly a minor procedure...considering Frank's age and health. The question is...just curious...is the Governor a Dem or a Republican? And the other question is...if Frank is mentally unable to function in the Senate...can he be removed easily?

Unfortunately Gov is a D now. I thought he sounded a little confused last time he did a TV photo op.

"And the other question is...if Frank is mentally unable to function in the Senate..." I can name quite a few that have been doing just that for years in the Senate.

The reasons to dislike Lautenberg are too numerous to mention, but if forced to say one good thing... I sure hope I'm skiing in Aspen when I'm 79.

I suspect the dem governor will appoint himself. There is no way he would appoint a man younger than Lautenberg, because the whole purpose of putting him in the senate in the first place was to be a seat warmer for the governor.
This is going to be interesting to watch.

What the heck is a 79 year old doing skiing?
I know there are some "young" 79 year olds out there but I've seen Lautenberg on TV and he certainly doesn't appear to be one.

What is the procedure for determining if someone as 'able to function' in the Senate?
