Polish foreign minister supports military action against Iraq - without waiting for UN!!!

During a hearing before foreign affairs committee of the Polish parliament, foreign affairs Minister Wlodzimierz Cimoszewicz stated that Poland would support US military action against Iraq even if it is not approved by UN Security Council and that Poland would be ready to participate in such an action.

Here is a link to a full text of an article, which is unfortunately in Polish: http://info.onet.pl/633264,11,item.html

Cimoszewicz stressed that Poland would of course prefer to have Security Council blessing, but is ready to support US unilateral military action.

Let's make a list of countries that are behaving more responsibly than Germany, led by the antiAmerican-GreenParty foreign minister.

1. Italy
2. Poland
3. Hungary.

Cimoszewicz's daughter is a graduate of the University of South Carolina, and he has an honorary doctorate from that university. Kwasniewski, the Polish President, is one of only two heads of state given a formal state dinner at the Bush White House (the other being Vicente Fox of Mexico.)

According to surveys, the two countries in Europe in which Americans are most popular are Poland and Ireland. God bless both countries.

If you were planning any tourist trips to France or Germany, try going a little further west (Ireland) or east (Poland.)

FLY your flags (and a British one, too)....and put up your BUSH/CHENEY signs, (and the BIG W's on your SUV's) for the STATE of the UNION next Tuesday, if you support the President and the United States of America.

Lets not forget the Aussies, too.

The poles sent some troops in 1991 (chem units, I believe). Their airborne regiment is top notch & their troops pulled some US chestnuts (engineers, I believe) out of the fire in Kososvo.

So stolat for the Rzeczpospolita also.

During WWII 1 in 8 RAF pilots were Polish, ever heard of Monte Cassino? Trust me, the Poles will fight.

Poland's help will be welcomed, and, of course, that of the men from Down Under.

Poland has the sad misfortune of having little in the way of natural barriers to foreign military invasion that the United States and Britain are blessed with. That nation also is stuck in a rough neighborhood: Germany to her west, Russia to her east. Perhaps the Poles have learned from their partition in the 18th Century and their submission to the Nazi and Communist yoke in the 20th Century that military preparedness cannot be ignored.

It would be nice to see the combined Lithuanian, Polish and Ukrainian brigade mounted on decent armor, like the good old days!

All of the new NATO members have an interest in a United States that will ignore the UN Security Council. They are in NATO to get protection from Russia (just in case it has another bout of expansionism) and Russia has a veto on the Security Council. So what use is an ally that can be stopped by a veto from the most likely enemy?

People forget that Europe may very well have become Muslim had it not been for Jan Sobieski.
