First question: do you want to fight it because you didn't run a red light, or do you want to fight it because you are angry you got caught?

Is your car in the area of the red light and you going through it? Be a man and accept your guilt, pay the fine.

Maybe you could move to a free country where you are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Assuming that you're in CA, does the photo show you entering the intersection while the light's red (illegal) or does it show you merely in the intersection while it's red? (not illegal)

If you really ran the red light there is nothing you can do. On the flip side, in Maryland you do not get any points put on your record for running a red light. Which confirms that states are merely using red light cameras as revenue generators.

If the state you reside doesn't put this offense on your driving record, you probably are better off paying the fine if you are guilty.

Zoltan: Pay the ticket. You did it. Anti - up.

Admin Mod: Think we should give him a second ticket ??? I defer to your opinion.

Say you were on your way to a lesbian-tree hugging-save the whales-vegetarian dinner/fundraiser and you were late because you were trying to get you 70 mpg electro car to charge up...

You are joking, right? Obey traffic laws so this won't happen so often.

Normally tickets come in the form of a piece of paper. I'd say the fight ends the quickest if you broadside it with a flame thrower.

Well... the easiest way would be to use Kung-Fu - but watch out for paper cuts - they hurt like crazy...

Write a check for the amount of the ticket, and in the comments section, write the words "F#%&ing Ticket"

The check and ticket will subsequently become part of another legal case and will be locked up as evidence and cannot be cashed.

That is how you get "out" of paying that ticket.

It is always easy to get out of a ticket... just hire a lawyer.

As long as members of the legal profession get remunerated, everybody is happy.

This is a pretty worthless post Mssr Zoltan.

The government is always seeking ways to enhance revenue in the name of public safety. Here in the DC area I believe they signed a contract with Lock-Mart, or maybe someone else, to set this racket up. It was discovered some months later that the cameras were jumping the gun by a fraction of a second and some number of infractions were thrown out.

Hmmm..... interesting.

There are various things that you could do to gum up the bureaucracy but I doubt that you can beat the ticket unless you have substantive proof that you didn't run a red light. Red light runners are almost universally despised and that is why the state sees it as a revenue enhancement strategy.

Welcome to the 21st Century--enjoy your stay.
