The people are starving for food, and the Honorable Dictators spend $$$ for scientists, and Nuclear bombs, etc. It's just not right!

The ranges consider all missiles at full payload capacity. By reducing payloads, they can get longer ranges. The Tae po Dong 2 can make up to 10,000 miles with a reduced payload and extended booster sections.

Just a little additional information. Great post!

"Federation of American Scientists web site. Great info!"

The "Federation" of "American" "Scientists" once employed (or was the creature of) Paul Pike, a man evidently without a college degree, who poses as an expert on every topic covering defense, aviation, and space.

He is an ignoramus.

He has since moved on to another spurious organization of his own devising.

Back in the 1970s, I heard him refer to "The Apollo-I explosion" (there was no explosion, there was a fire).

I noted that on his resume on FAS, no degrees or institutions were listed. I wrote him politely, pointing out the unfortunate omission, and saying 'you will undoubtedly want to correct this oversight as soon as possible.'

Six-eight months later no changes.

I looked on his current hobby-horse (forget its name) and guess what? No degrees, no colleges, nothing.

Great info!

Yeah, I think the map of missile ranges is good info.
Pike, who cares. If you are such the genius put up your own
web site. I'm sure your degrees will astound and confuse.
You're the guy who slams wind power, I think I remember
your attitude.

"You're the guy who slams wind power"

You got that right. The only reason I 'slam' is that the laws of physics make it easy to show that it is impractical, unwise, and expensive. Other than that, I love gigantic churning windmills--they chop up endangered species!
