She disappears from Port Allen parking lot
The wife of jailed former state Elections Commissioner Jerry Fowler apparently was kidnapped Christmas Eve from a strip mall parking lot in Port Allen, police said. She was on her way to Lake Charles and then to a federal prison in Fort Worth, Texas, to visit her husband.
Mary Fowler had stopped for sandwiches at a Subway in Port Allen on her way to Lake Charles to see family members. They told police that Fowler planned to spend Christmas Eve with them before continuing to the Fort Worth prison, where her husband is serving a five-year sentence.
Jerry Fowler pleaded guilty in 2000 to state and federal charges of malfeasance in office and conspiracy to launder kickbacks from overcharges to state voting machine vendors.
Subway employees noticed Fowler's car still parked outside several minutes after she had exited the store and grew concerned.
When sheriff's deputies arrived, they found Fowler's car door ajar, her purse and the sandwiches she had just bought on the ground.
"(The struggle) was very brief, because nobody saw anything," said Lt. Charles Hotard of the West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office.
Officials ruled out burglary as the motive because they found several wrapped Christmas presents as well as Fowler's purse at the scene.
West Baton Rouge officials immediately called in the task force investigating recent slayings believed to be the work of a serial killer, but officials said Wednesday night that they have not linking the case to those killings.
Witnesses said they caught a glimpse of a white or silver vehicle that may have been a truck. Witnesses in some of the Baton Rouge-area serial killer cases have reported seeing a white truck.
Search teams spent much of Tuesday night and Wednesday searching back roads and vacant land around Port Allen for signs of Fowler, Chief Deputy Mike Cazes said.

Jerry Fowler(RAT Election's Commisioner)'s wife was abducted. There's a serial killer active in the area, but his last victim was found in Lafayette a few days ago. Interesting.

Fascinating indeed, Sparta. Serial killers are politically motivated? Is ransom a posibility?

Jerry Fowler, from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the just-convicted State Commissioner of Elections. Fowler took real money--maybe ten million--for a period of a decade, not a fact inspiring confidence in recent election returns from that state.
Could this be the reason why the cable-news shows keep telling us that "elections are an inexact science?"
The man who bribed Fowler is Pasquale "Rocco" Ricci, who hails from Marlton, New Jersey.
Commissioner of Elections and former pro football player Jerry Fowler, we learned, got himself in gambling trouble at Harrah's casino in Atlantic City in the mid-'90's.
It was also at just this time, strangely enough, in 1995 and '96, when allegations of voting irregularity became commonplace in Louisiana. Curiously, gambling was the burning issue on the ballot in those years in the state's elections. One of the big gambling questions involved Harrah's proposal to build a casino in downtown New Orleans.
We recalled this gambling connection later when we learned, from one of five losing candidates that alleged vote fraud in a suit, of the strange death of the Supervisor of Elections in New Orleans.

Of course not. Fowler was a Demonrat, but the Slimes-Pukeayune won't mention that because they're on their way to becoming a New York Times clone.

She knew something and had made noises to a friend that she was going to talk?
Is that a possibility?
Anyone having anything to do with the Clintons and the party of crime that says anything approaching 'i'll talk' disappears.

Poor Bitch! I don't think even the wife of a convicted RAT deserves to be serially raped / killed.
Since the RAT is convicted, he is probably being serially raped in the Gen Prison Population; since she bedded him, she has already been raped. Methinks the cops already know if she was a serial victim or a victim of LCN - perhaps hubby is still ratting in prison...

So why call this unfortunate 60 something year old woman a bitch? I don't know about the serial killer,,he seems to pick them young.

My only thoughts were that he so far has NEVER grabbed them in a public place..the other four women were taken from their homes..with no sign of forced entry...he could have passed himself off as an electrician or gas man..needing to check on their utilities..as for "witnessess" seeing a white pickup truck..don't forget the hysteria that surrounded the DC area sniper when so many people thought they saw a white box truck because of erroneous reports in the media..we all know what car the killers were driving..my two cents..

From what I understand, she took good care of herself and could pass for late 40's. She also had taken self defense classes. It appears that she put up a huge fight--they found most of her fingernails at the scene. She probably was holding packages and at a disadvantage at the time of the abduction.

Hello All Y'awl also too! I'm new to Free Republic, this will be my first post.
Henchman, News2 reported Fowler may get emergency furlough.

Jerry Fowler may get emergency furlough
Authorities still searching for his wife, Mari Ann
Ken Pastorick
WBRZ Reporter
An attorney for Jerry Fowler says the former elections commissioner could be released from prison on an emergency furlough.
Former elections commissioner Jerry Fowler
While Fowler is in jail, authorities are searching for his wife, Mari Ann Fowler. She was abducted Christmas Eve from a sandwich shop in Port Allen.
Fowler is serving five years in a Beaumont federal prison for accepting kickbacks from voting-machine contractors.
Today attorney Richard Crane said Fowler is eligible for an emergency furlough, though he admits the move is not a foregone conclusion
"He's eligible for a furlough if there's a family crisis... which certainly this would qualify for," says Crane. "But this is a very unusual situation. Typically ... the Bureau of Prisons allows an inmate to leave the prison to attend a funeral of a close relative, and this situation is totally different. They might also allow somebody to leave for a deathbed visit, but again that doesn't really apply in this case."
Crane says he hasn't spoken to Fowler since last month. He also says the decision to permit an emergency furlough would be the warden's.
End of my 1st post-Here geauxs, I hope this works....

Thanks for the update. Hope his wife is OK and he gets to stay in prison. Does he get credit for time served if he is out while he looks for his wife? The FBI would look for him but they seem to be looking for 5 Arab men (profiling again) who slipped past their noses.
