He fled the United States and returned to the Philippines. While fighting extradition, he was elected to the House of Representatives in May 2001. Nice country. I guess, they voted him in for his gov't-buying skills.

I guess, they voted him in for his gov't-buying skills.No. I believe it was because of his family. In the Philippines, government-buying skills are a definitely plus when running for office, though.
