Pentagon-AP -- U-S troops in Afghanistan are shifting focus from military matters to humanitarian missions.

Pentagon spokeswoman Victoria Clarke says U-S forces are helping to rebuild a roadway that will improve trade in the region. She says American forces are offering free health care in some areas. And a veterinary unit is helping farmers with their livestock.

There are eight-thousand U-S troops in Afghanistan. Some, scouring the eastern regions for remnants of al-Qaida and Taliban fighters, will continue their work while others shift focus elsewhere.

Clarke said today that American forces have rebuilt 23-hundred miles of roads as part of the 835 (m) million dollars the U-S has spent in assistance over the past year. Schools and water systems have also been repaired.

It'd be terrific if this information were broadcast on national tv, and also told to the hollywierd (Streisand) crowd. The libs would go into a whirling dervish. And W would have 04 sewn up. Pubbies do a horrible marketing job for what we stand for, and our accomplishments. Oh well, that's why I don't give 'em a $100 bucks a year anymore.

Maybe they want to wait until later as they feel people will forget what they tell them now.
