Ammo Day Dot Com ^ | 11/15/02 | staff

Posted on 11/15/2002 11:37:21 AM PST by joesnuffy

Celebrate the Second Amendment by buying an extra 100 rounds of ammunition on November 19th. Great for hunting, self-defense, target practice and annoying the anti-gun lobbyists.

Announcement: We will now be able to collect ammunition purchase reports from individual buyers in addition to sellers. The form is in test mode now. Please visit the page and help us test the database. Please feel free to send your suggestions or comments of the form and the report so we have a chance to make it as perfect as possible before November 19. Thank you!

Click here or choose "Buyer Form" from the navigation bar on the left.

To view the same report, click here or choose "Buyer Tally" on the navigation bar.

NEW...

November 12, 2002: Kim was a featured guest on Jim Dexter's KTKK AM 630, Utah. Welcome to all those who listened and called into the show. A special thanks to Jim Dexter for helping to spread the word about National Ammo Day.

And a very Good Day to you too!

We received this e-mail (10/21/02 4:40 pm) from across the pond:

G'day from Australia. The Sporting Shooters Association of Australia supports the National Ammo Day concept and have promoted the idea to our 125,000 members.

Oh! Canada

We received this e-mail (10/21/02 9:15 am):

We Canadian gun owners have heard it's your birthday and our freedom-loving neighbors are gearing up for a National Ammo Day!!

Well when I got wind of that, I thought... hmmm... How can we make his birthday better?... So I e-mailed everyone on the Canadian Firearms Digest (Canada's largest on-line firearm news subscription) and the Canadian Access to Firearms paper (Canada's version of Shotgun News) to get the message out that our American neighbors deserve our support and show of strength !!

Gun control knows no borders... it affects us all the same way !!

So... On November 19th: We plan to say a very special Happy Birthday to you... by buying up all the ammo here in Canada too !!! That should send a very strong message to politicians on both sides of our borders !!

Happy Birthday Kim !!!!

ON NATIONAL AMMO DAY..........GUN NUTS PLEDGE TO " HANG OUT TOGETHER " !!! (at local gun shops that is ) - Sincerely, {name omitted} - Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada On behalf of the Gun Owners in Canada !!

Parody:

We've been Buzzed (Buzz.ca) Eh!. It's too funny. Take a look: Chretienizer Version of National Ammo Day website

Kim du Toit on Ken Hamblin "The Black Avenger" radio program.

October 17, 2002: Ken Hamblin interviewed Kim du Toit at 3:30 pm on October 17. We're working on getting a streamable version of the interview. A transcript of the interview will be posted soon.

CNS News October 17, 2002:

National Ammo Day Targets 'Gun Grabbers' (CNSNews.com) - The organizer of National Ammo Day is calling on the nation's gun owners to "show the gun-grabbers and the nanny-legislators just how many Second Amendment supporters are out there." On Nov. 19, organizer Kim Du Toit wants 75 million gun owners to visit local gun shops, sporting goods or hardware stores -- and purchase every round of ammunition on the shelves. Full Story

Maybe I am dumb, or at best uninformed, but could someone explain this and the ramifications.

I'll be in New York City in a hotel. I won't have a car. Where can I buy ammo that is walking distance from the subway? :-)

If we can get even a fraction of the American Gun Owners to purchase 100 rounds we can have a BILLION ROUND MARCH....(10million owners X 100 rounds = 1 Billion). If ALL the owners purchase 100 rounds, someone estimated 7.5 Billion rounds in the hands of law-abiding citizens.

It's to send out a message to the gun-control lobby that we are not going to succumb to their demands.

I think the national vote last week somewhat illustrated that. An actual show of increase in ammo sales will confirm that we mean business.

The weekend of Nov. 16-17 should have been declared National Ammo Weekend. The Bill Goodman Gun Show is this weekend, where I'll be buying a case of .223 for Bushmaster. Shouldn't neglect my Springfield 1911 either.

Just in time! I have my first M-1 Garand on the way

Congratulations. I won one in a contest last month. It is already my favorite rifle. Got to buy some of that surplus machine gun ammo on the belt. Its cheap and works great for target shooting.

A couple of Garand tips I learned at Camp Perry. Keep a firm grip on the bolt handle when putting fingers in the action area. The injury is called M1-Garand Thumb and it is nasty.

Never let the bolt slam forward to chamber a round. Due to the long bolt travel and heavy spring a slam fire can occur. It is rare but the stories of bruised body parts abound. Grip the bolt and ease it forward about half way, then let it go.

Have fun. Mine got in the bulleye at 200 yds the first time I shot it.
