The Mondale-Coleman race is being so closely watched because, with Wellstone's death, the Senate is evenly divided between Republicans and Democrats. The Minnesota contest could determine who controls the Senate.
Mondale plans to campaign in southern Minnesota today and the northeastern part of the state Saturday. They will travel by bus,
"There will be no planes," Mondale spokeswoman Allison Dobson said.

More than true statement. There's ALWAYS a crisis.
That is what the voters of Minnesota should tell the ghoules in the DNC.
Or better yet--tell him to take a flying leap...............
The way the Dems are portraying him as young and spunky now, the old guy could swim to Japan!
Translation: Busses are a LOT cheaper than chartered planes or helicopters.
The Democrat party has GOT to be flat broke. Time to bring out the big guns full force. Bush, Cheney, Guliani.....They dumped McCall in NY because of no money.
There's still 4 days to dump on them.
Got this message from MoveOn PAC. This is an emergency, people, GIVE THEM MONEY! I just gave 25 bucks-- all I can afford as a student... we HAVE to win this one for Paul Wellstone.
They're still using the Welstone crap.
This is a call to give Coleman a few more bucks.

Dear MoveOn members,
After Paul Wellstone's tragic death in a plane crash, his remaining family turned to Walter Mondale. Paul's sons asked Mondale to continue Paul's tradition in the Senate by running in his place.
Wednesday night, Mondale was officially named the Democratic candidate in the Minnesota race.
Yesterday, the GOP went into full attack mode. The White House announced that Vice President Dick Cheney, First Lady Laura Bush and President Bush would make successive appearances in Minnesota, beginning today, for Wellstone's opponent Norm Coleman.
We've been talking with the Mondale campaign, and they're emotionally exhausted and besieged. Mondale has no staff, no media dollars, and no web site.
GOP attacks keep coming, and the money keeps rolling in for Coleman -- the Republicans now see this as a winnable race.
Mondale and his volunteer staff are good people running under the most difficult of personal and political conditions. We've just got to help.
Indeed....No truer words were ever spoken..
