Beer Foot, the raccoon who gained nationwide attention after being caught with a Coors Light beer can stuck on its foot, has died.

The female died Thursday morning at the Conservancy of Southwest Florida where it had been treated for injuries caused by the can.

The raccoon was apparently an alcoholic, and it wouldn't surprise me at if he had some sort of drug problem, too.

Look at that sucker. He looks just like every other skinny transient you see hanging around under freeway overpasses.

He probably died because he didn't get his normal fix.

I read the other two postings on this rodent,any normal coon would have chewed that can to shreds to get it off....this one didn't have the smarts to make it in nature,litter or no litter.

Beer Foot found the next morning with DIC.....dead in cage. A somewhat common disease in wildlife rehabilitation cages, humane societies, and veterinary clinics. Raccoons are meaner than the proverbial junkyard dog.

Please people, the poor animal died. Show a little mercy, will ya? It was a coon, not a RAT. All these posts about it being a filthy, disgusting, disease carrying, nuisance, alcoholic, drug addicted, meaner than a junkyard dog, ignorant rodent seem to have this poor coon confused with your typical RAT.

Oh raccons look cute all right but once you have seen the amount of destruction they cause they look more like trouble.

Sort of like getting all gooey-eyed over a deer. If you have a garden that the long legged rats are plundering or you ever made an unexpected venison harvest with your car they start looking less like Bambi and more like chili and sausage and steaks and sloppy joes.

It is applied here to a variety of Stupid Human Tricks-type stories. This raccoon story is a different take, to say the least.
