Search for missing teen

High Point police are still searching for missing 13 year old Chris Dixon. Meanwhile, his case is gaining national attention. Dixon's family has appeared on the Fox Newschannel. The family is also lining up interviews with CNN and "America's Most Wanted." Tuesday morning, Chris Dixon's mother pleaded for him to come home. She tearfully told him he will not be in any trouble. She also asked that if someone has Chris, to please return him unharmed. A mail carrier last saw the teenager on Thursday. Chris was running into the woods across the street from his house. Detectives say they've searched the area several times and haven't found any evidence that points towards someone abducting him. Police are treating the case officially as a missing persons, but they have established a special taskforce to work on the investigation. Police have also set up a tip line. Can anyone in their right mind please tell me why on earth a case would be called "RUNAWAY" when a child vanishes leaving his wallet with cash at home, backpack, and lunchbox in the driveway?? No jacket??

Christopher Edward Dixon, 13, is 5 feet tall and weighs 90 pounds. He has light brown hair and bluish-green eyes. He wears glasses. On Thursday afternoon, he was wearing a light blue, short sleeved shirt and dark blue pants. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call High Point Police at 883-3224 or CrimeStoppers at 889-4000. Information can also be given to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at (800) 843-5678.
