'Win for Paul! For Paul! For Paul'...Cheering, handshaking, speechifying, yelling, clapping, stomping, laughing and shouting -- there's never been a memorial service like it... Instead of eulogies, stemwinders. Instead of pray for his soul, get out the vote. Instead of weeping, cheering. Welcome to bigtime politics 2002, where a memorial service for a tragically killed senator becomes a raucous DNC rally...

and you know that drudge hits the tone that will be coming
To: The Wizard
I prefer this slogan,
"Win one for the Gipper!"
To: Paleo Conservative
I just had to put that up so it would be actually seen as a headline........it was a disgusting display as a memorial....you had the feeling they were ball going to go have sex together
To: The Wizard
It was totally disgusting. I was no fan of Wellstone's politics, but dammit, have some respect for the dead!
I feel sorry for the Wellstone family, because I'm sure McAuliffe and Puff Daschle strong-armed them into giving this revolting "memorial service."

Bubba is the real-life Al Pacino from "The Devil's Advocate"...Satan himself.

Not politicize Wellstone's death? Are you kidding me?
"Yeah, everybody, use Wellstone's death, Hooray!! Let's win one for the Stoner. Yippee, he's dead, let's win!!"

well I'd say, judging by the look on Dashole's face, he knew it wasn't goiong to play well....
I mean Drudge's hewadline is going to turn up in various ways around the contry
To: Thane_Banquo
can someone tell me if this barforama was on live in Minnesota? (other than CSPAN)
To: The Wizard
This thing was absolutely sick. No wonder they dis-invited Cheney; it was a DNC / DFL rally from beginning to end.
I find it amazing how even Wellstone's children care more about retaining a Senate seat than the life of their father, mother, and sister.
I need to shower now after watching the highlights of this. Hopefully the people of Minnesota are as sickened as I am.

This was broadcast on every local affiliate in the state of Minnesota. The Dems went way over the top on this one. The reporter on Kare11(NBC) said this was shopped to them as a memorial service and another reporter on ABC said they were told two days ago that it would not be political.I checked the big three here in the Twin Cities and all the reporters were just incredulous. As Dick Cheney might say--this one is gonna backfire bigtime!!

Just wanted to add that a MN Republican spokesman said their phones were ringing off the wall with people upset and wanting to donate to the party. The local networks were also reporting that there phone lines were deluged with calls from people complaining.
To: The Wizard
Why not? The Rats have danced in the blood of every murder involving a gun and a child for 30 years and tens of thousands of dead people vote for Rats every election.
You think they even remembered to bury him?
To: Queen of Excelsior
That's very interesting and greatly appreciated to hear from there......BIG TIME
To: The Wizard
Hey, every year they can have the
Wellstone Memorial DNC Campaign Rally.

Coleman's A Lock to WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"...have some respect for the dead."Well, I've been flamed pretty strongly for the past few days for not showing L'il Paulie due respect and refusing to acknowledge that he "believed in something", yadda-yadda-yadda. But if his own family has so little respect for him that they would allow (promote, even!) this effing political circus, then I'll be damned if I'll show him or his puny "legacy" even the slightest bit of respect.
To: The Wizard
Well, now we know why Cheney was disinvited.
It wasn't a funeral, it was a commercial ...
