Yeah but Mimi also started the fire in the first place. If the cat had not been carelessly playing around the oven there would have been no fire at all. I think the cat did it on purpose so she could get attention and be praised as a hero. Cats are evil!

Cats are definitely evil, and I love them for it, but leaving newspapers near a (gas??) stove is asking for the darwin award.

Mimi would be looking for a new home today, were she one of our cats. We did have one that figured out how to walk on the remote control and turn on the TV. Three nights of the wife and I being jolted awake and doing a running two person bounding overwatch to the living room (fully armed and completely naked) caused us to learn to put the remote up where the cat couldn't get to it.
