FBI PROBERS GO TO GITMO IN SEARCH OF AN AL QAEDA CONNECTION

October 17, 2002 -- The FBI plans to question al Qaeda prisoners at Guantanamo Bay and elsewhere to find out if they know anything that could link the Psycho Sniper to Islamic terrorists, U.S. intelligence officials have told The Post.

This doesn't make sense. All the rounds came from the same weapon, he could not have switched.

One ugly scenario: What if this is just the start.....Say the plan is for this guy's arrest or death to be the trigger. Then, the next day, there are fifteen sniper shootings in fifteen U.S. cities, from fifteen different sleeper cells. If this *is* organized terrorism, it could get real nasty.

BTW, thanks for referring to them as Moslims. Most folk say Middle Easterners. I'm ME (Christian) and I resent it. They are Islamic Fundamental Militants...who are in dire need of a good pork feast.

I'll tell you what doesn't make sense. A witness can ID the rifle and yet not be able to give them enough info to draw a composite of the guys face or give a description of the shooters weight, height, or complexion. This is fishy.

I think the (dis)information being released is being carefully controlled for some reason This is discussed on another thread on FR.

One witness can describe the gun but not the perp. I've not seen if he was the driver or not. Has anybody else here heard? Why would they suppress that info?

Another guy in the parking lot is quoted as saying he got a real good look at the guy (in the white van trying to exit the parking lot), but still no picture.

They are saying the shooter changed guns, but all the bullets came fom the same gun (or is is this a new shooter they don't want us to know about?)

But in Monday's attack, he was only 40 feet away from his target - firing from a white van at the end of the row of cars in which Franklin's red convertible was parked.

40 feet, or 40 yards? I've seen both.

Cops believe the dramatic change in modus operandi by a gunman who has been careful in the past indicates he wanted to be spotted.

Or it may be that he was specifically targeting FBI intelligence analyst Linda Franklin, and wanted a positive ID.

You're right. The match is on the gun barrel. If an AK-74 was used for Monday's attack, it was used for the previous shootings too.

The worst race/religion riots this country has ever seen will erupt if this is proven to be Muslims, American or otherwise.
