October 5, 2002 -- JERUSALEM - Israel's defense minister has said he expects the U.S. to attack Iraq by late November - remarks that "irritated" Washington officials.
"It is possible that it will begin toward the end of November."
Sources close to Ben-Eliezer said that the minister's remarks - which were reported in Israeli newspapers yesterday - were based on new information received by his intelligence officers.
