ALBANY, N.Y. -- A statewide poll released Thursday shows Democrat Alan Hevesi with a double-digit lead over Republican John Faso in the state comptroller's race.
The Quinnipiac University Polling Institute also found Democratic Attorney General Eliot Spitzer leading his Republican challenger, former state judge Dora Irizarry, 55 to 17, among likely voters.
"The early line looks good for Democrats in these two statewide races," said pollster Maurice Carroll. "Name recognition counts in the state comptroller's race: Alan Hevesi got more media attention as New York City comptroller than John Faso did as Assembly minority leader.
TOPICS: News/Current Events; Politics/Elections
KEYWORDS:
Sheesh, Faso is a conservative's conservative. Fiscal and social. Pro-Life and anti-tax. New Yorkers need to get off their butts and actively campaing for Faso and Pataki or we will be a Clinton Crime State.

The Quinnipiac University Polling That's a poll of NYC and surrounding area.
You have to understand, NYC is full of left wing sewer rats. Drug addicts, whores, gays, welfare dependants, unwed mothers, homeless, and all the unclean beasts of the earth. Of course they'd vote Democrat.
As a matter of fact, NYC reports more alien abductions than any other part of the country, so what's that tell ya? Lab rats!

Faso is on three lines (R, I, and C), so this race will be a lot closer than this poll makes out.

No mention whatsoever of the gubernatorial race? That is hilarious. McCall must be getting his ass kicked even worse than I suspected.

We are still pissed at the NYSGOP for putting in a complete unknown (with an unpronounceable name) like Dora Irrazary. Elliot Spitzer was truly vulnerable on the corporate crisis issue for giving Merrill Lynch a slap on the wrist while investors lost billions from the fraud of analysts like Henry Blodget, with damning emails to prove it.
But she is a LATINA, and so the GOP surrenders a post they held for decades on the alter of the Hispanic vote for Pataki. Very discouraging.
