Report challenges governors' splurges in spending

Jeb one of few called fiscally responsible

By Gannett News Service

Guess which headline ended up on the front page of Florida Capital News, the election news link to Fla. Gannett-owned "hometown" paper websites, i.e. Ft. Myers News-Press?

Incidentally, Jeb Rates an "A".

The Gannett News Service version of Stephen Moore's WSJ article has this to say about Governor Bush:

Two Re-publican governors — Florida’s Jeb Bush and Colorado’s Bill Owens — got A’s.

That's it. The Florida political news website didn't include a paragraph of detailed kudos for our Gov. from the original WSJ article, but we can cut them some slack because only the WSJ subscriber side is carrying it today. Last week the Republican Party of Florida, ran it and of course a Freeper, windchime, posted it: JEB Gets An "A" (Wall Street Journal), FR thread.

***Jeb Bush of Florida is the real tax-cutting fiscal conservative in the family. In a state with no income tax, Gov. Bush has cut the Florida property tax by $1 billion, and in 2001 he cut the business intangible tax by another $600 million. Earlier this year he took the unusual step of walking the halls of the Capitol himself asking members of both parties to oppose a sales tax hike sponsored by members of his own party. Mr. Bush has also distinguished himself by promoting one of the most innovative choice-based school reforms in the nation -- a plan that allows students in failing schools to go to any public or private school of their choice -- and by enacting tort reform legislation fiercely opposed by the trial lawyers.

E-mail the Gannett Fla. bureau contacts:
e-mail links here, and tell them the headline disses our Gov. when OUR Gov. deserves a positively glowing headline for the truth in the original article.

You might ask them where they found such an ugly picture of our good-looking Governor, and whether their McBride pic. came from "Glamour Shots".

Gov. Jeb Bush,
Republican

Bill McBride,
Democrat

LOL! We cancelled our subscription last year...and tell them why every time they call.

Check out this latest News-Press article: McBride draws close in latest poll....Mason-Dixon. Either they've turned to the dark side as well, or the poll lies last week had an effect. There is no other explanation. Jeb's record cannot be argued against truthfully. The only way voters would choose McBride is because of the fawning DNC PR press (or they were from the socialist wing of the Dem. Party, thus McBride's kindred spirits). The press is actually comparing McBride to Jeb..the biggest lie yet and probably why some voters are being fooled. Grrrr.

This is warrrr!

As you probably figured out, LOL, my entire Jeb Photo Pit Stop series is on my profile page.

NOW I know. LOL! Check out the link at #21, fv. I'm off to do some research into this report. There's no rational basis for it...a whole lot of hot air going around these parts.

Mason-Dixon polls are skewed (sp?) in favor of the D's- very urban, heavy SE Fl, heavy minority. I once heard a Republican had to be ahead (in reality) by 20 points to break even on Mason-Dixon.
They always trot them out to bolster the liberal causes. Watch for a Tennant Group poll- or even Zogby- and forget M-D.

Thanks for the heads up on the Mason-Dixon polls, GG! Isn't FR wonderful! I can trust you and skip the lengthy poll research, put my energy into getting out the good news about our Gov. instead.

McBride's photo--for some strange reason--reminded me of Al Lewis' (Grandpa Munster) run for NY governor when he was 88, then the NY senate when he was 90 years old. No idea why--it just did.

Isn't that the former Mayor of NYC? Ed Koch, was his name, I think.

We are going to be bad on the debate thread, aren't we? Lol!
