I'll print it out and pin it up and use it as a checklist.

Too many still at large.

I just read an interesting story here. According to the Telegraph, Blair's dossier on Iraq claims that Abu Zabair was trained in Iraq and still has connections to the Baghdad government. It also claims there are further al Qaeda members who recieved similar training from Baghdad.

A useful whos-who of Al-Qaida.

I bet President Bush has a similar list - with a few names lined through. Hopefully shortly most if not all of them will be "checked off."

Here's another list worth keeping your eye on called the Thugburg list. It's not comprehensive, but it does cover other islamist groups besides al Qaeda. Unfortunately, as far as I can tell, it's only updated about once a month.

Also, watch out for spelling variations in these thugs' names. Don't know if that's a deliberate deception or if something has been scrambled in the translation, but it makes it a little harder to keep track of 'em.

He admitted just that very fact last week on the interview with Scott Pelley on CBS.

Pelley told him it was rumored he kept a list on his desk, and asked him if it was true.

He said it was and then Pelley asked him if he marked them off as they were caught. But just smiled and said, "Well, maybe a little tiny checkmark."

Your list notes that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was killed in the Pakistan raid; believe he is the one who was captured and currently being tortured, er questioned. Thanks for the updates on these people; trying to keep my own record and this really helps.
