Even before I read Pipes's response, I also remarked that the two socialists used that great lefty buzzword "offended" to describe their reaction to Pipes's original article.
Leftists can't simply "disagree", or have another point of view. No, they always have to be "offended", as if merely holding a viewpoint that differs from their PC dogma is somehow an affront.
This reveals the fundamentally anti-democratic, totalitarian strain in liberalism. They don't merely want to win the ideological war, they want to suppress the ability of people to disagree. Thus we witness, particularly on campus, all sorts of left-wing restrictions on free speech: from PC speech codes to the suppression of invited speakers with "offensive" views.

Bump. Moreover, these Danish politicos disregarded the original import of Pipes article. They chose to focus on the accuracy of the percentages Pipes and his colleague quoted. Pure liberal smokescreen meant to dilute the substance of Pipes's message regarding the corosive effect Islamic immigrants have had on Danish society.
It's an Ad Misericordiam argument socialist employ to portray these Muslims as victims. It's the same distortion w/ the Palestinian issue... socialist confuse recognition of Palestinian suffering with assigning blame for that suffering.

Hear! Hear!
[And sounds as if you are talking about any UK subject and/or other EUROnal dweller. None of them can stand debate, either]

Oh how I wish I could fit that all on a bumper sticker!! It's worth saying again and again, and John Huang should make it the quote of the month:

as if merely holding a viewpoint that differs from their PC dogma is somehow an affront. Typical.
