From above link (FOXNEWS):

GEORGETOWN, Texas — About 300 pounds of the explosive material ammonium nitrate were reported missing Monday from a Williamson County business.

The FBI issued a bulletin asking the public to be on the lookout for the fertilizer authorities believe was stolen from the Austin Powder Co., said FBI Special Agent Darren Holmes in San Antonio.

Ammonium nitrate is typically used by farmers, lawn care companies and consumers. It is also the material used in the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995. About 600 pounds were used for a two-ton bomb that killed 168 and injured hundreds.

Holmes declined comment on whether authorities believe the missing materials could be linked to Wednesday's one-year anniversary of the 2001 terrorist attacks in New York City and Washington, D.C.

Austin Powder provides explosives for mining, construction and seismic exploration, Holmes said. The ammonium nitrate was reported missing by workers about 7:30 a.m.

The missing chemicals were taken from behind a fenced area and presumed stolen sometime after midnight, Holmes said. There was no sign of a forced entry, he said. Nothing else, such as blasting caps, was reported missing.

Further details were not immediately available from authorities.

"The only thing unaccounted for was the tubes of ammonium nitrate," Holmes said. "We suspect they might be sold on the black market. We're just trying to get the word out."

Holmes said authorities were interviewing company employees and anyone who would have access to the area.

A man who answered the phone at the Austin Powder referred calls to owner Mike Gleason, who did not immediately return a telephone message.

same type that was used to make OKC bomb

Was that cow manure or chicken manure? Wouldn't be horse manure, which doesn't have the same level of quality.

If FOX NEWS is reporting it...well, it might just be an organically derived fertilizer, collected from bovine males.

On March 4, 1994, Muhammad Amin Salameh, Nidal Ayyad, Mahmud Abouhalima, and Ahmed Ajaj were convicted for their roles in the bombing. On April 25, 1994, each received a 240-year prison term and a $500,000 fine. On February 7, 1995, Yousef, a "Top Ten" fugitive, was arrested in Pakistan and was then turned over to the FBI."

No kidding! The only thing that raises eyebrows is that it's been stolen... Guess it makes many get the jitters.

Probably your's, since you are broadcasting the fact that your are full of it.. ( amonium nitrate) Do not light a match, or go bend over an open fire, just might contribute to global warming. Alaska, go figure... Texas, just stay in Alaska.. There are excellent reasons why you'al are the 49th state. I am sure you have a bunch, sadly.

Shoot, that's light weight stuff. Wait till you start having chemical plants in your community blow up in the middle of the night.

I still haven't heard an explanation why this thing blew.

While your coments are comical, the report came from our local Sherrif's office here in Williamson County. Just might be very funny to you but not to us. We are 22 miles from the State Capitol of Texas, about 80 miles from President Bush's ranch. The item's stolen were not chicken shi9, sheep shi9, nor your shi9. There were 11 tubes of amonium nitrate, with ingredients, that cause major expossions. Our local law enforcement department is probably the best in the west. Jokes work, since FR will archive yours I will able to review them, man or lady, I hope your are correct.

What would this stuff bring on the black market? It has to be worth more than a few 40lb bags of fertilizer that you can buy at Wally World for a few bucks, otherwise what's this black market stuff?
