This undated photo, released by the FBI on August 20, 2002, shows Saud A.S. Al-Rasheed, 21, of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Father denies FBI charges against SaudJEDDAH, 24 August Abdul Aziz Al-Rasheed has denied his son Saud had ties with the perpetrators of the Sept. 11 terror attacks as alleged by the US Federal Bureau of Investigation. "Everyone knows that Saud is innocent and that the information published (by the FBI) is baseless," Abdul Aziz... (full story).

And the Saudis will clamp a lid on him, just like they did with the Khobar Towers bombing suspects. We won't get within a 1000 miles of him to question him.
The Saudis are our friends.

The elder al-Rasheed, who works for the Saudi Red Crescent society in the capital Riyadh, denied the FBI accusations against his son, calling him a peaceful person who "has nothing to do with terror networks." question for any of y'all who might be amateur islamic/koranic scholars:
as i have the sense of its being used quite often by the rags lately, do any of you recall from your readings
any pattern of the use of the words(s) peace/peaceful in a suspiciously ambiguous sense ?
eg:
Double Meaning Ambiguity in a word or other expression, in which one sense is usually immediately apparent and relevant, while the other usually has a humorous, clever, cynical, or other implication...

just curious ...

What is this week's definition of "Ssptember 11 Suspect, Saudi Arabian, giving humanitarian aid in Afghanistan?"
To: Oldeconomybuyer
I am just sure that Saud's father has done a more thorough investigation of his son's activities and whereabouts than the FBI did. I am just sure of it.

Religion of peace bump.

say al-Rasheed's picture was found among pictures of several hijackers in materials obtained overseas some time agoWe musn't jump to conclusions here. Maybe the picture came with the wallet.
To: Oldeconomybuyer
There's a cd with pictures of all of the hijackers on it and the only other picture is of this Al-Rasheed guy. That's all we have and that's why we're investigating it. No charges have been leveled, yet. OTOH, my not impressed by the Arab parents cries of innonence for their kids. Atta's father denies his son's involvement, indeed he spoke to him after the 9/11 attacks. Ziad Jarrah's family said he wasn't involved, because he had a girlfriend, drank and danced. We'll see, that is, we'll see, if the Saudi Government actually co-operates.

The Saudis should be subject to military action when they refuse to hand this guy over. Actually, they should be subject to military action regardless.

OK, I have a question. I know this is racist. I know it's hate-filled. I know I'm a terrible human being for even thinking in such terms. I know I know I know. But I'll bet a lot of you out there have had the same thought. It's this:
How the heck do you tell all these guys apart?
Here's what I mean. They all have black hair and brown eyes. When you get a beard, a moustache, and a head-towel on 'em they all basically look pretty much alike. And they're all called one of about three Moslem names. So it's a mystery to me how the FBI could ever arrest any these Arabs. They're indistinguishable.
Now crucify me for being racist. I'm so dreadfully sorry.

You probably believe in profiling, too, you sicko.

He said his son was in
Egypt when the alert was issued and returned to
Saudi Arabia on Wednesday. Saud al-Rasheed was previously in
Afghanistan to take part in
humanitarian efforts there and returned the Saudi Arabia several months before the Sept. 11 attacks took place, the father said.
Uh Huh.
["He confirmed to me had no relations with any terror group there, specifically al-Qaida or the Taliban regime," he said.]
Well I guess that settles it. Time to move on.
To: Catspaw
We won't get within a 1000 miles of him to question him. Or they'll execute him before we do.
