Federal agents raided Southern California airports Thursday morning as part of a post-9-11 security check, arresting as many as 47 John Wayne Airport workers.

None of the John Wayne workers was affiliated with a terrorist group or had a serious criminal record, according to an internal airport memo.

Good. It's about time we take a hard stance against illegal immigration and protect our national security.

It's a good start.

But immigration enforcement in this country has deteriorated to the point that I regularly see Mexicans driving around with this sentiment.

None of the John Wayne workers was affiliated with a terrorist group or had a serious criminal record, according to an internal airport memo.

The workers, mostly Latino immigrants ranging from janitors to baggage screeners to food-service workers, were rounded up for not having proof of legal residency.

Such schizophrenia in California! (As well as other parts of the country.) We have a governor signs legislature to give children of illegals in-state tuition priviledges at state colleges and universities. He's considering granting driver's licenses to illegals--which no doubt he'll push through.

I'm glad they are rounding up the illegals, but that should go for everything else. If they really want to work here, then there should be a legal work permit program.

I know I'm preaching to the choir.

This article disgusts me on so many levels that I don't know where to begin. Think I'll sign up for yoga classes so I can walk around with my head up my A_S like the people who wrote it. It's my last defense.

"They treated him as if he were some sort of murderer," she said. "He doesn't drink or smoke. He just works and he was studying to get his high school degree. They didn't even let him put a shirt on."

Too friggin bad. I'm a 52 year old WASP who is treated like sh!t by these morons every time I travel on business.

I refer to them as criminal aliens - where I live in the northern suburbs of Los Angeles, predominately asian and latino gangland slayings are now sadly an everyday occurence.

In Los Angeles they no longer pull you over for expired tags so most criminals travel freely about LA with little risk of getting pulled over. Consequently the streets are clogged with smoky old 1970's cars, idling at the curb while "homies" shoot up the local Bank of Americas. Others pass the time smashing into innocent drivers while staging phony wrecks, etc...On the other hand independent cities like Burbank and Glendale where killings and lawlessness are frowned upon one hears little gunfire at night and you better have insurance on that heap.

Yesterday, I witnessed an LAPD squad car traveling northbound through town signalling left yet going straight. When I caught up to the car I noticed the officer wasn't signaling but drying her nails...(sigh)

One small step for the agents who made these arrest. One large step (I hope) for the country.

"Union officials say some legal residents were swept up in the raid. And Reina Schmitz, with the janitors union, said the raids unfairly hurt scores of undocumented immigrants who are trying to improve their lives."

But, but, our jails are full of robbers who were also only trying to improve their lives."

"This is a pyschological war on immigrants," she said.

I sure hope so. I hope it intimidates thousands more of them and puts the fear of God into them. Unfortunately they probably look on it as a risk of doing business.

Among those arrested at John Wayne Airport were four or five employees at Globe Security, whose workers screen baggage and monitor metal detectors at 72 airports nationwide, including Ontario, Long Beach and LAX.

Swell. The illegals get to hassle the legal Americans in their own country. I'll bet they have some good laughs about what fools we are.

I gather from the responses Mexican illegals are quite a problem- BUT - I'd feel a damn sight happier if they had rounded up some of the dangerous Islamists in their big sweep.

Keep in mind, the Great Gringo wants these people to stay in the country. He wants to give a HUGE incentive for even more mestizos to invade our cities and trash our culture.

When GWB drives by a group of mestizos selling drugs, staging phoney wrecks, and running in gangs, he sees Republican voters.

GWB's detractors commented on his intelligence. Perhaps they were onto something.

Illegals couldn't possibly be working at our airports; according to liberals, they only take the jobs that legal citizens don't want!! (sarcasm)

They should do this kind of sweep throughout every business and company in the U.S., and maybe our unemployment rate would go down.
