New Simon Ad Takes on Davis' Toxic Environmental Record Ad Kicks Off Simon's Fall Advertising Campaign

SACRAMENTO - The Bill Simon for Governor Campaign today kicked off its fall advertising efforts with a tough television spot that takes Governor Gray Davis to task for a toxic pay to play decision that puts people's lives at risk.

"The ad buy is statewide and the campaign will remain on the air for the remainder of the election," said Chief Campaign Strategist Sal Russo.

"These ads mark the beginning of a television campaign that will expose the failed, ethically challenged governorship of Gray Davis," Russo said. "Today's ad highlights Gray Davis' despicable 'fundraising first' priorities, and his willingness to ignore the health of Californians and our San Francisco Bay."

The spot cites an article by the San Jose Mercury News that revealed a Davis-appointed state board, on the heels of $50,000 campaign donation to Davis, reversed itself and allowed a Bay Area oil refinery to increase by 400 percent the cancer-causing chemical Dioxin it discharges into the Bay. Environmental groups described Davis' actions as "selling out human health."

"Gray Davis has built an image before Californians as an incompetent governor who shamelessly puts his personal political ambitions ahead of our state," Russo said. "We saw during the energy crisis, in education, Oracle, and even as the budget crisis rolls into the fall, that the only shred of leadership Gray Davis has ever shown has been in shaking down campaign contributors for cash.

Hello fellow Californians. Gray Davis wants to make sure your kids have every opportunity to become a homosexual and ruin their lives. Its called Democratic family values. If you agree with Mr. Davis and his "family friendly" values, then reelect him. If you disagree, then get as far away from the Democratic party, and their pro-pervert, pro-curse on our state growth plan, join the Republican party, and vote for a family man who won't pervert everything we hold sacred from God, especially marriage the way God designed it.

In Governor Davis' first year in office, he signed four new homosexual agenda laws:

1999
AB 26 established a statewide "domestic partners" registry and required taxpayers to fund marriage-equivalent benefits for homosexual partners of state employees.
AB 537 prohibited parents and school boards from barring transsexual and homosexual teachers.
AB 1001 authorized $50,000 fines against businesses, including religious businesses and non-profit organizations such as the Boy Scouts, that refused to hire homosexual job applicants.
AB 1670 increased the fines of AB 1001 to $150,000 per incident.

Three bills undermining marriage were introduced but died on the Assembly floor in the wake of Proposition 22. However, Governor Davis signed three more bills promoting the homosexual agenda:

2000
AB 1785 required that schoolchildren be taught to "appreciate…sexual orientation."
AB 1931 authorized $2 million for undefined "tolerance" field trips for schoolchildren.
AB 2418 awarded special status to homosexual jurors.

Governor Davis signed a major "domestic partners" bill and several other homosexual agenda bills:

2001
AB 25 granted over a dozen rights of marriage to homosexual "domestic partners."
AB 1475 mandated that religious hospitals come under "harassment" regulations that could force them to accept homosexuality and endure sensitivity training.
SB 225 required school sports teams to accept homosexual, bisexual and transsexual behavior.
SB 257 enforced the part of AB 1785 which targeted pro-family speech in public schools under the guise of "harassment," "discrimination" and "hate crimes."
SB 381 forced local human relations commissions to promote homosexuality and transsexuality.
AB 1338, a "civil union" bill to usher in Vermont-style homosexual "marriage," was introduced in 2001 but withdrawn prior to the March 2002 primary election. Meanwhile, Gov. Davis established a task force to review how California could enact "civil union" legislation in the future.

This election year, at least nine homosexual agenda bills have been introduced:

2002
AB 1080 requires state contractors to provide marriage-equivalent benefits to "domestic partners."
AB 1684 awards spousal-equivalent rights to "domestic partners" of a segment of state employees.
AB 2216 equates "domestic partner" with married spouse in regards to wills.
AB 2651 requires foster parents to accept homosexual, bisexual and transsexual behavior.
AB 2777 funds spousal-equivalent "survivorship" benefits to homosexual "domestic partners" of county workers
SB 1213 awards spousal-equivalent rights to "domestic partners" of a segment of state employees.
SB 1575 expands marital rights to "domestic partners" in part of the Probate Code.
SB 1661 mandates that private employers provide "family" status to "domestic partners."
SCA 9 would place a constitutional amendment on the California ballot to award a marriage-equivalent tax benefit to unmarried persons who live together.

The only way a spot like this will have any effect is if it shows Davis taking bags of money and dead birds and wildlife floating in toxic sludge. The average Joe doesn't care without the visuals.

Simon better start swingin' for the fence.

Go Simon.

Defeat the most corrupt Governor in California history!

Post the address where to send cash for Simon.

I never give checks to where I donate anymore.
The junk mail that results is not worth any potential write-off!

PS: I will become suspicious if the address is in care of Kellynla LOL

It's really not a good idea to send cash through the mail. Perhaps a postal money order for those contributions under $100.

However donations in excess of $100 in CA do require your name address and occupation -- it's the law. However it is also the law that others may not use those reports to build mailing lists.

Not enough, I hope that is just the match starting a barnfire.

I agree with you. And I think he should talk about what Davis has done to California. Why would he start with an issue that is so complicated. Everyone knows Davis is exposed on the budget issue. Why isn't Simon rubbing salt in this wound?
