Rumsfeld says al Qaeda in Iraq

Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld said yesterday that al Qaeda terrorists are inside Iraq almost certainly with the support of the government in Baghdad.

"In a vicious, repressive dictatorship that exercises near-total control over its population, it's very hard to imagine that the government is not aware of what's taking place in the country," Mr. Rumsfeld told reporters at the Pentagon.

We had to know this news story was coming. The Administration needs some concrete reason to go into Iraq. At least as far as the rest of the world is concerned.

Though I suppose it wouldn't even matter if Osama Bin Laden bent over in the middle of Baghdad square and mooned us...the rest of the world would still express their 'outrage' at our heavyhandedness. Feh.
