U.S. intelligence agencies spotted activity at an Iraqi factory last week that is increasing fears that Saddam Hussein is advancing his germ-weapons program, The Washington Times has learned.

A convoy of about 60 trucks was photographed by a U.S. spy satellite at a known biological weapons facility near Taji last week, according to U.S. intelligence officials.

We need to blow this place to kingdom come...NOW! Israel is so f-cked it is not even funny. All shipments and ports should be closed off immediately from Iraq. Roll em up, light em up, and kill them all. Glass them. End it. Finish it. Now. No, not next month. I mean right this hour and minute. What? Need congress and the NY TIMES to still approve? Oh...sorry for rushing things. Ok....

Ebola. If one vial of this crap is left in one airport on the east coast and one on the left...they will have succeded in spreading it across the nation.

Here is hoping that the CDC is working 24/7.

Time to take out the neutron bombs and go to work. God Bless our troops if they are faced with this hell that is being prepared and we are sitting back waiting to be used.

Ritter is a paid off asshole. Period. I am finding this report to be HIGHLY disturbing. It is on the move and they are positioning to use it...what are we waiting for? Israel to be completely leveled?

I don't believe Saddam has long range to hit the U.S. with this...unless it is already here.

So many choices of nasty bioweapons and few with any defensive countermeasure. Stupidity in the extreme. If ANY of this stuff is released, we need to sterilize Iraq with neutron weapons from border to border.

I still can't keep the thought of a 9/11/2002 attack on Iraq out of my mind. I personally think nothing would cement the people behind Dubya more than that.

Great minds think alike. Any of the contagious bioweapons will spread like wildfire in a dense city environment. Airports are an easy way to distribute the stuff. The screeners are going to be worthless. The best place to turn the crap loose is at the screening station. Everyone has to pass through.

My employer just put me back on a frequent flying schedule after a long hiatus. Great timing. It totally defeats the point of moving to a small town.

There is no spin you can put to this. None! The world always wants a smoking gun...well it just got one.

What a great way to memorialize the fallen but go after satan himself. But I don't think the Bush Administration would do it on 9/11/02. Way too symbolic and would not want to disturb the day of mourning. The problem with America is we have too many celebrations and memorials...we need victories and need them now. This is the fight of our lives right now and it needs to be taken to the mattresses.

A bioweapon attack can be released unnoticed. It can spread all over before anyone knows it has occurred. By the time it is detected, it is too late to stop. Nerve agents tend to strike rapidly (around 1 minute from exposure to death). Stuff like VX has some staying power. A contaminated area is dangerous for 3 to 5 days. Unlike bioweapons, the chemical variety tends to remain localized to the area of release.

Saddam is probably as intent on sharing the date for his own purposes.

Naaaa .. he won't do it on 9/11 because that is a day of memorial for those that lost their lives

However, 9/12 looks like a better date

Polls shows shockingly high support for a war against Iraq. Now, if BUsh just comes out and shows photos of all these chemical labs, then the support will go sky high....even more so if he shows Iraq was connected to 9-11.

No spin desired. I did my graduate work in pathogenic microbiology. I know exactly what we are facing. Only a few well equipped military units have the resources to fend off a bio attack. Even that capacity is limited. You can't hide forever. A bioweapon initiated epidemic is going to nail you when you run out of means to isolate yourself and have access to safe food and water. The majority of the human race is wholly unprepared to survive such an attack.

I'm assuming a contagious agent. Stuff such as anthrax is limited to the spores released. It isn't replicated in the host and passed to additional victim. The hemorrhagic fever viruses such as ebola and Marburg spread quickly and kill quickly. In a 3rd world country with limited transportation systems, the fever blows out the entire population of a tiny geographic area. The "epidemic" is self limiting because of sparse population and limited contact. Move that same virus to a dense city such as New York, San Francisco or Chicago and you have a favorable set of conditions to wipe out a few million people.

Unfortunately, I don't think we have any neutron bombs. Thank you, Bill Clinton.
"With barely an audible whisper of dissent, the U.S. destroyed neutron bombs and tactical nuclear weapons (which might be useful in defending its borders against invasion) and its nuclear weapons manufacturing capability (the sites now being devoted to environmental cleansing). Its strategic deterrent drifts toward obsolescence, and nuclear testing is now done by computer simulation only. Its conventional forces have deteriorated to the point that the U.S. would probably be incapable of an effort comparable to Desert Storm.
