THE AXIS OF
ENVIRONMENTAL EVIL

By Alan Caruba

The evil that is environmentalism will be on full display in Johannesburg, South Africa, from August 26 through September 4. The United Nations summit to be held there comes ten years after the Rio Summit that generated the hoax of global warming. It put in motion the mechanism of "sustainable environment" and the vast propaganda campaign that the Earth was running out all its natural resources. The answer, they said, was a massive restructuring of capitalism to "save" the Earth.

Restructuring isn't the right word. Elimination is the right word. The true purpose of environmentalism is the imposing of Socialism/Communism on the nations of the world. Having fought a long Cold War after WWII, Russia's Communism came crashing down along with the Berlin Wall, proving to anyone with any sense that this economic system, based on the theory of class warfare, doesn't work. The Europeans and others have failed to notice this.

On August 2nd, a letter signed by 31 men and women who devote their lives to the defense of liberty here at home and throughout the world was sent to President Bush. I was one of those who signed it. It concerned the forthcoming Johannesburg Summit.

Brought together by Myron Ebell of the Competitive Enterprise Institute, the letter began by applauding President Bush's decision not to attend the Summit in person. "Even more than the Earth Summit in 1992, the Johannesburg Summit will provide a global media stage for many of the most irresponsible and destructive elements involved in critical international economic and environmental issues."

"We also strongly support your opposition to signing new international environmental treaties or creating new international environmental organizations at the Johannesburg Summit. In our view, the worst possible outcome at Johannesburg would be taking any steps toward creating a World Environmental Organization, as the European Union has suggested."

The forthcoming Summit is based on the foundations put in place in Rio, now referred to as Agenda 21. It is quite an agenda, indeed. It is a plan for global governance.

That is why the Johannesburg Summit is so important to the forces driving it. The Summit is the essential instrument for those who would impose a global, one world, government on the United States and all other nations.

The Johannesburg Summit will send up a great hue and cry over the failure of Third World or undeveloped nations to make any progress. The reason is obvious to everyone. These nations are in the grip of despots and Communists whose sole purpose is to loot their wealth. Despite their natural resources that Capitalism would turn into employment and the enrichment of their citizens, the undeveloped nations remain undeveloped due to corruption and criminality of every description.

As the August 2nd letter to the President correctly points out, "World Bank studies have concluded that there is a direct correlation between national prosperity and environmental quality and that environmental conditions improve rapidly as poor nations become wealthier."

You can count on the liberal, mainstream media to blare forth the lies to come from the Johannesburg Summit. It remains for the US to take the lead to end the "global warming" myth and to trumpet the real answer to the world's needs, the further spread of democracy, national sovereignty, and liberty. The world needs stable governments and free markets operating under the rule of law. The objective of the Johannesburg Summit is power through the aegis of a single, global government administered by unelected Communists operating behind the curtain of the United Nations.

Thanks for the ping. At least we will have the pleasure of watching the Greens in Germany soon fall from power and go back to being what they were before- back row rabble rousers in the Bundestag. That alone should have a measureable effect. And that's happening next month.

Alright! I’m up to two votes! (and my wife is a “maybe”)

Another 53 million or so and the job is mine.

This is Mathusian (dating from the 1700s). It was incorrect then, it was incorrect with the Club of Rome et al.(ca. 1965). It remains incorrect today. The religious have always been right ("God will provide") and the anti-religious can hardly stand it. So their propanda campaigns grow more frantic (fear) and louder (frustration) and their animosity towards the religious increases to the point where good is labeled bad (moral paradigm shifting, Orwellian pigs).

This is megalomaniacal Identifying all the world's problems as stemming from not having a single entity responsible for governing the world, and then wanting to be the one who rules -- this is quintessential megalomania.

Mr. Caruba is referring to captalism here directly; but indirectly the ultimate elimation is people. This is misanthropic. Fear over having too many people, or of the wrong type of people, is clearly seated at the center of the hatred of humanity.
Pagan cultures killed babies and virgins and other innocents, and often engaged in homosexual activity. So? So we see the rise of Neo-paganism being promoted. To see where this is intended to lead, you can use homosexuality as the pattern to expect. It was first tolerated, then accepted, and now promoted in the schools and in our institutions under penalty of being put out of business and or a position of authority. S.F. Judges Ordered to Cut Ties to Scouts

The agenda of these Mathusian misanthropic megalomaniacs could not be more clear.

But how many of us have been long considering how one or more of the items in this agenda isn't all that bad?
Are you one of those who has been seduced?

Do you think that the geometric progression defined by Thomas Malthus is, in the end, inevitable? That you must somehow help God provide?

Do you wish there were fewer people? That way you wouldn't have to correct them when they do wrong. And thus you'd have less fear of being charged with that most horrid of modern sins: being called judgmental.

And finally, if only everybody thought as you do, would that finally bring us world peace? A dictatorial world regime -- oh yes, benign to be sure, just like you -- has gotta have the answer, right?

How many of us have the courage to admit "I have an outright fondness for all these answers?"

I wonder.

Don't you?

'Pod, I'm pretty sure that link goes to the Bizarro World. This must be their planet's Constitution.

And the private ownership of property, which is virtually unknown in many parts of the world.

(p.s.: and the means to defend it!)

If we added Hegelian at the beginning, we could say, HMMM!

Well done.  Lots of big words for "There's a holocaust coming!"  Good link on neo-paganism, too.  Thanks.

This is one of the reasons I believe "terrorists" work for ours and other governments. If they really wanted to stop oppression , they could put a big dent in it at one of these conferences.

If I could just be the invisible man for a few years , the things I could achieve

Thanks.
However, I don't know how, after all this time, I managed to misspell Malthusian, not just once, but twice!
I also misspelled propaganda as propanda, knew I'd misspelled it, but forgot to go back and correct it.

Some days I manage to find the simplest of ways to ruin an otherwise reasonably good post.

( JohnRob -- PLEASE, when are we finally gonna get a spellchecker? <G>)

LOL. Go for it 2S.

Using my format, extract the portion of the original article which can be described as Hegelian, and add it and your explanation to my composition.
