RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, Jul 23, 2002 (AP Online via COMTEX) -- Prince Sultan bin Faisal bin Turki bin Abdullah, a businessman and nephew of King Fahd, died in a Riyadh car accident Tuesday, a statement from the Saudi Royal Palace said. He was 41. Prince Sultan owned Lu'lu, a health care-related business in the capital. Details about the accident were not released. The palace statement said funeral prayers for Prince Sultan were held at Imam Turki bin Abdullah mosque, the largest mosque in the kingdom. Prince Sultan's death came the same day the kingdom buried 43-year-old Prince Ahmed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, head of a publishing empire and owner of Kentucky Derby winner War Emblem. Prince Ahmed, also a nephew of the king, died Monday of a heart attack. Prince Sultan's mother is a sister of King Fahd. His survivors include a brother, Prince Mohammed bin Faisal bin Turki bin Abdullah, the Saudi deputy ambassador for Islamic affairs in Washington.

This is very bizarre. I'd be watching my back if I were in that family.

If it is not a coincidence, who are these guys, Wahabi backers or moderates? The answer to that will help determine which way Saudi is heading rather than where it has been.

I suspect this family does watch their back very closely. However, I would wait for a few more deaths before pulling out the aluminum foil headgear. Two data points do not a pattern make.

Interesting....very interesting.
If another one or few demise soon, we'll be hearing the Saudi Royal Family begging the Great Satan USA to protect and safeguard their royal butts.

Was it a one car accident? Sports car + speed + telephone pole (or minaret, as it were), or do we need to coin a new word, say, Saudicide?

I think "bin" means "son of" ... kinda like all the surnames over here that end in "son."

Hope you're both enjoying your 72 white raisins as we speak. It's pure, clear grapes. Even better than the best the Arabian desert has to offer.
