ATHENS -- The Greek Orthodox priest whose three sons are alleged executioners for the November 17 terrorist group said Saturday that his children had turned away from God and must pay for their crimes.

Police, meanwhile, said two more men were picked up Saturday as authorities continued their sweep against the leftist terror band that operated in Greece for 27 years.

"All these days I have been praying . . . for God to reveal the truth, for the guilty ones to be revealed. God has done his miracle. The police did their job well. The truth was revealed and the guilty ones were revealed. And I am happy for this, even if my own children were involved. Whoever did something must pay. Everyone must pay, either here or in the next life."

I like to consider that our Orthodox Christian way of dealing with human sin. Admit it and deal with the consequences (temporal and eternal) and seek repentance and forgiveness. What a contrast with the standard Muslim way of celebrating death and destruction if it's done by any Muslim anywhere for the good of the cause. This attitude by the Orthodox priest is just like the attitude with which we were raised, which is that Truth (reality as seen by God) is the most important thing, transcending all else. For him to call it a miracle of God that all guilty ones were revealed, even relatives, is of course a great example of Orthodox Christianity (of the priest, of course, not of the sons who had rejected it).

Of course, that's like the difference between the Democratic and Republican ways of politics, too. If you're a Democrat like Clinton, no matter what you have done, the Democrats will stand on the lawn of the White House and defend you, but if you're a Republican and do something wrong, you're called on by your own party to resign.

You've said it well; this is the Christian way. Confess and repent, and take your punishment.

Bless this father for being first, a man of God and for praying for the truth, wherever it led.
