A member of the U.S. Civil Rights Commission said in Detroit on Friday he could foresee a scenario in which the public would demand internment camps for ArabAmericans if Arab terrorists strike again in this country.

If there's a future terrorist attack in America "and they come from the same ethnic group that attacked the World Trade Center, you can forget about civil rights," commission member Peter Kirsanow said.

Stupid, impolitic remarks.

Plus every Every meeting like this should be turned around, asking the questioners what they are doing to help stop and search out potential terrorists. Watch if they cringe.

"Hamad said he felt insulted by some of the commission's remarks"

I'm insulted by Hamad taking a statement out of context and turning prissy over it.

Is the Detroit Free Press going to write an article about me now?

Sometimes truth hurts. The people of this country will not stand for further attacks by those from the Middle East. I think it was prudent warning.

ping. This guy Kirsanow is fab!

"It's becoming really ugly," said Imad Hamad, regional director of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, during his testimony. Hamad and others expressed concern about mass interviews of Arab men, secret immigration hearings and profiling of drivers and airplane passengers. Kirsanow was unmoved, arguing that Arab and Muslim Americans should accept the country's new antiterrorism laws and complain less about infringements to their civil rights. If there's another attack by Arabs on U.S. soil, "not too many people will be crying in their beer if there are more detentions, more stops, more profiling," Kirsanow said.

Perhaps. I get the feeling that he didn't come planning to say these remarks.

I don't know but when the luminary of the civil rights commission says something like this, people's ears perk up.

Are we seeing the next week's TV talk topics here?

Read David Luxman's Magic - about the 1942 detentions based on recently declassified military intel documents on the reasons why the military insisted on internment.

The president has said that ours is a war against evil and extremists and that the teachings of Islam are the teachings of peace and good."

Bush is still in total denial of reality mode, and would prefer to see all Americans subject to police state controls than to simply focus on the enemy among us.

Radical Islam is an insane murder cult, and "moderate" Islam is its Trojan Horse in the West.

"They had their own political agenda," said Kary Moss, executive director of the Michigan chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union, referring to Braceras and Kirsanow.

Meanwhile, Ms. Moss's ACLU will do everything in its power to see that Americans are as vulnerable to terrorist attacks as possible.

As do I. Who knows? Maybe if they're worried about this possibility, we'll see Arab-Americans start trying to do something to prevent another attack. Wouldn't that be a trip?

Interpretation--

Dear Muslims,
This is your last chance to turn over the terrorist filth that shelter in your midst with your consent. This is your final warning to turn from the teachings of those who preach hate and death. With the next attack on American soil, life as you know it will change drastically, and not for the better. We will wring our hands and make public appeals, but ultimately we will not be able to stop what happens next. The vengeance of God, the real God, the way, the truth, and the life, will rain down upon you in such a way as to make the Egyptian pharoic plagues look like a bad day at summer camp. The implementation of this justice will be at the hands of the most fearsome instrument of God's will the world has known for the past two centuries...the average American. They will not murder your children or rape your women, but the ones who do them harm, your men, will find no safe harbor anywhere on the planet. Their tolerance and compassion is exceed only by their rage when their families and way of life are under attack. Their forefathers took forests and mountains and reshaped them into a beacon of light and freedom for all who believe in liberty. Every tyrant, murder, or opressor who has made the world shake with fear has been laid at their feet...you will be no different. Please heed the warning, for your own sake for if you do not, dire consequences will result.

Hey Mr. Hamad, too bad you felt insulted by it...maybe you should talk to your pals over in the house of Saud, not to do this crap for long ,otherwise there will be no "Mecca and/or Medina" to bent over anymore!!!!!!

At this moment in time, I'm not sure how I feel about locking up American citizens. If and when another attack comes I may feel differently. At the very least, I would agree to keep them on a short leash and under a microscope.

Now non citizens is another story. Any person in the United States and not a citizen is here at the pleasure of the U.S. government. I don't understand why we are not ordering all muslims out of the country. The exception being U.S. citizens. It is past the time for the political correctness nonsense. We must put the safety of the people and the nation ahead of somebody's feelings. It is insane to be concerned with inconveniencing foreigners when we have people wishing to kill us!

Our politicians must become practical and realize that if another attack comes and a large number of Americans die, the people will hold the leaders accountable. The blood will clearly be on their hands.
