Show For Cats Coming To TV This Fall
Meow Mix Putting Show On
POSTED: 4:59 p.m. EDT July 17, 2002
NEW YORK -- An under-served audience gets its own television show this fall.
The pet food company that makes Meow Mix is putting on a half-hour aimed primarily at cats. "Meow TV" is the brainchild of David Freeman, the strategy director at the company's advertising agency. He says the components of the show haven't been decided yet, but notes that cats seem to like bright colors and happy voices.
As he pointed out, "A narrative thread really isn't that important."
The company says more than one-fifth of cat owners watch TV with their pets. Negotiations are under way to find an outlet for "Meow TV."

I bet the people at PETA will be glued to the TV. Probably the only thing they are intelligent enough to grasp are bright colors anyway.

(^..^)! My little guy in a fur suit can't wait. Heck, I'll probably watch, too. This'll probably be better than 99.9% of the programming for people on the boob tube.

Great! All the more reason for cats to be couch potatoes!

Yeah, fine. But if my two cats start hogging the remote or stealing my popcorn, we're gonna go to war.

You are probably right. The thing will probably be much more entertaining and family oriented than the other filth tv viewing.

Dogs will demand equal access to the airwaves!!! Dogs are already well-represented on network news and most of the WB's programming lineup.

"I bet the people at PETA will be glued to the TV." I doubt it. ARA fanatics are vehemently opposed to the idea of people having pets.

Yup. What I can't figure out is with all the other channels on the goggle box, why no-one's come up with a Cat Channel. Or even a Dog Channel. Or maybe cats and dogs (as long as cats get top billing and most of the air time). I mean, I like Animal Planet, but you've got to sit through a lot of other critters before you get to the cat stuff.

Was it your dog who posted this??
Here is the latest Off The Internet procedure on How To Bathe A Cat: 1. Thoroughly clean toilet. (optional)
2. Lift both lids and add shampoo.
3. Find and soothe cat as you carry him to bathroom
4. In one swift move, place cat in toilet, close both lids and stand on top so cat cannot escape.
5. The cat will self agitate and produce ample suds.(ignore ruckus from inside toilet, cat is enjoying this)
6. Flush toilet 3 or 4 times. This provides power rinse, which is quite effective.
7. Have someone open outside door, stand as far from toilet as possible and quickly lift both lids.
8. Clean cat will rocket out of toilet and outdoors, where he will air dry.
Sincerely,
The Dog

I think in the Bill Murray movie "Scrooged" he played a TV Exec and his network boss came to him and said We have done studies and the cat market is a emerging comercial market. I want you to develope shows for this market." It is strang how art imitates life. Go and rent network if you haven't seen it lately and notice how it predicted the Jerry Springer movement.

Only if you are obsessed with little shiny objects, fuzzy scampering things, and moving bits of string. Of course, most of the crap that's on is like that already.

Hi Doggie, Your are cute, but in pet food and aninimal produt commercials dogs already outnumber cats probably outnumber us 3 to 1. My little cute furballs will love this show. I love my furkids and I have a catnip video that they watch, but they are tired of the rerun's. They need some new stimulating material and entertainment. Cats Rule! Dogs Drule! Sorry, bad typing "Drule"----"Drool"

I agree with him! Every one of them is a little treasure.
