July 4, 2002 -- PETER Jennings has received five boxes of old boots (plus some old sneakers and a prosthetic leg) from irate country music fans.
But the boots were in such poor shape that Jennings will likely not contribute very many - if any - to the homeless, as he had hoped he would.
