Steubenville Bombed?
from the wtrf.com for the Ohio Valley
Dave Elias

The Federal government is investigating whether or not air space over one of the Ohio Valley's biggest cities was violated.

The FBI is investigating whether a plane flying low over the City of Steubenville may have dropped some type of explosive devices.

It's said to have happened near the intersection of 4th and Market Streets and two city police officers say they heard the plane flying low near the city's two tallest buildings.

In a police report, they say they heard two loud booms that sounded like m-80's being dropped from the plane as it flew over.

The FBI and FAA have been notified about the situation. The FBI isn’t talking right now about the report but they did confirm for 7 News that they are looking into what may have happened. The city's police chief his department is no longer investigating

Sounds like someone having fun for the fourth - just not a real bright idea...

I'd suggest bombing 7th and Market, in the interest of urban beautification. (Just kidding)

Al Qeada picked Stuebenville as their opening shot of terror on the 4th. Yeah, right.

I've been bombed in Steubenville, but I don't remember anyone investigating.

Run your magneto's in the off position for about five seconds, that windmilling prop and fuel pump(s) just keep on spitting out avgas. After the five seconds, turn the switch back to (L),(R),or (Both), and the resulting sound will produce quite a bang. It happens quite frequently. I doubt the booming metropolis of Stuebenville cared. Sounds more like some locality wanting to be relevant in the "War on Terrorism" and it's resulting financial rewards.

Eh, not really, there's a sort of warped sort of civic pride/boosterism about your local irrelevant s***hole town of East Bumble being a target for international terrorism...have seen it a lot on FR; people trying to one-up each other with the amazing significance of their local hog-processing plant or whatever to the US and how THEIR town is an obvious target for Al Qaeda.

If it is terrorist, it could just be a practice run. There is an intercessor who had a dream last week about a bunch of small planes flying over 4th of July celebrations and exploading.

Just visit one of the steel mills near Steubenville and breathe deeply.

A few weeks ago, a couple of guys threw some m-80s out of the upper deck of Jacob's Field in Cleveland onto the street below.

Boy! Are they ever in trouble!!

If this is a similar thing, whoever did this foolish stunt will be one sorry individual!

That's silly..

Who would waste bombs on Steubenville when they could have Cincinnatti instead?

1) I don't believe it.

2) This person should stop sleeping with his relatives.

Where do people go to purchase M-80's nowadays? I could find them when I was a teenager, but they don't seem to be out there any more, at least in my state.

Steubenville is the birthplace of Dean Martin. The terrorists shouldn't make old Dino mad. He might get so ticked that he'd come back to life and lead us in song:

When the bombs hit your land

you lie dead in your sand

that's Al Qaeda...

M80's are banned Federally, you cant legally get them anywhere, although people make them. A lot of people know someone who knows a guy who has a secret source and can get them for you. They cost between $1.00 and $1.50 each generally.
