Looks like the islamist supporters at foggy bottom are leaking silly stories again.

I am checking the International Policy Institute for Counter-Terrorism now for some source documents.

Seems to be a lot of funding for questionable organizations coming back to bite the hand that fed it. Does make sure there's always an enemy to justify the next step tho. We're just now paying the price for Carter's boy teaching the ruskies a lesson in Afganistan. I'm sure we will learn nothing from it.

1. Why are you posting stories from a year and a half ago? This is hardly "breaking news."

2. The U.S. supported the Taliban during the Soviet-Afghan war.

Your point is......?

Well, that worked out well now didn't it?

PS: I am not too keen on all the unnamed sources and stuff. If you are going to drop a bombshell like this it should be easily verifiable.

George Szamuely in his article Israel’s Hamas refers to the UPI article posted:

The terrorist organization Hamas is largely an Israeli creation. A UPI story last year quoted a U.S. government official as saying: "The thinking on the part of some of the right-wing Israeli establishment was that Hamas and the other groups, if they gained control, would refuse to have anything to do with the peace process and would torpedo any agreements put in place."

UPI story from 6/18/2002:
Hamas history tied to Israel

Just noticed your article which seems to be the 2nd or 3rd posted on FR this week on the topic.

Noted your comment I think this speaks for itself

Maybe I'm dumb, but it tells me very little, other than Israel engaged in routine "enemy of my enemy" tactics a few decades ago.

What does it "speak" to you that makes it timely?
