If none of you have done this, I suggest the following (besides signing this petition): get on the phone immediately and CALL YOUR SENATORS AND CONGRESSMEN! I just got off with phone with both my senators (Graham and Nelson) and it took me over 1 hour to get through. The lady told me they have been SWAMPED with calls about this and that 99.9% of the calls are people that are OUTRAGED at this ruling. My Senator (Bill Nelson-FL) is speaking right now, along with Joe Lieberman. Apparantly, they are as upset about this ruling as we are. So get on the phone..
One other thing I learned from all 3 offices (and I found this very interesting and hopeful): the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals has the HIGHEST record in the country of having their rulings overturned....29 out of 30 have been overruled.
I told them all that I am sick and damn tired of minorities telling ME what I can and cannot do and that I was not just gonna sit back and take this anymore. And neither are the rest of the people in this country. I told them that America is going to stand up and start taking back our rights as citizens instead of baaing like a bunch of sheep.
I must say that even though my two Senators are Democrats, their respective offices are in the same mindframe as was I. They even went so far as to tell me that this court is so liberal it's not even funny. Congressman Putnam's office spoke to me for about 10 minutes and I told this young man that even though my children go to Catholic school and that this would NOT effect them, that does not mean that we should have our rights as Americans taken away because some athiest out in CA doesn't want his daughter to say it. I told all 3 offices that if the father has such a problem with it, tell him to tell his daughter to keep her mouth SHUT.
I was pleasantly surprised when Sen. Nelson's office told me to turn on CSPAN-2 because he would be speaking soon. They said that their office alone had received over 2000 calls in one hour. And you can't even get through to Washington. So try the local numbers, they should be listed in your phone book under Government. Good luck and GOD BLESS.

Ping.

I was going to sign the petition, but after I saw that there several idiots that are messing it up for us by putting stupid signatures, I've decided to just call my congressman and let them know how I feel. When someone gets this petition, they will just throw it out seeing that there is no seriousness to it. That's a shame.

I have no problem with asking that schools do this, but I just wonder how many don't........every school building my children have been in, including the High School, recited the Pledge every day........ do you have any info on where they are NOT reciting the Pledge? Is it California, or just Urban Districts? I have no knowledge of this.....

Where do they not say the Pledge each morning.......they certainly do it in our schools...........Some public schools here in NH do not say the Pledge of Allegiance.

I understand how you feel....but if you really think about it, there will probably be 50 good signatures for every dumb one. ;-)
And yes! Call your Senators and Congressman...they ARE listening. I have never seen them call a session so fast in my life. The American people are letting their voices be heard, and I do believe they are getting the message.
