Judge's Husband Gives Up Emails Publisher Complies With Subpoena From Commission
POSTED: 7:33 a.m. EDT June 25, 2002
BOSTON -- The husband of Superior Court Judge Maria Lopez has given his e-mails to a court-appointed investigator reviewing the judge's conduct in a sexual assault case.
Boston Phoenix publisher Stephen Mindich complied with a subpoena from the Commission on Judicial Conduct.
Mindich had fought the order, but finally complied after determining there was little chance the U.S. Supreme Court would hear the case.
The commission wants his e-mails to see if he tried to drum up media support for his wife.
Lopez was harshly criticized for her conduct in the case of transsexual Charles "Ebony" Horton, who was convicted of attempted child rape.
Lopez let Horton off with no jail time and publicly belittled a prosecutor who asked for a long prison sentence.
Politically correct judge? "Tolerance " for a transsexual child rapist?
Well, I suppose that's the next "human rights" issue for the liberal left. They demand to have sex with anything warm, and the kids are easy to catch.
The statement makes no sense. If I remove the contraction, it becomes "Let us child rapist transsexual off..."
