Two prayer requests and a praise report

I'll start with the praise report. Six months ago, a friend of mine was in a bad accident. He fell on his head. That, in combination with a stroke at about the same time, has left him virtually a vegetable. Every week, during my lunch break, I go to the hospital and visit him for a few minutes, asking yes and no questions. Well, on my visit last week, the speech therapist was with him and he was able to talk a little. He remembers my name (my real name, not my FR name :-)). So he is improving in that area (and he can also buckle his padded belt by himself too). Praise God! Keep him in your prayers.
Now, the prayer requests. My pastor (I go to a United Pentecostal church) will go in for ear surgery on July 15. The tube in his inner ear will be worked on. He is deaf in that ear I think. Pray for him.
Also, tomorrow, my mother will have a needle stuck in the nodule in her lower throat. Pray that they don't find a cancerous tumor there.

Update on my mom...three needles were stuck into the nodule today. Tonight she's wearing a bandaid at the bottom of her throat. She looks and sounds fine. Thanks for your prayers.
