Women serving in the military overseas should not be denied their constitutional right to safe and legal abortions, Sen. Patty Murray said yesterday in trying to reverse a policy of prohibiting privately funded abortions in military hospitals abroad.

The Washington Democrat proposed lifting the ban in an amendment to a $393 billion defense spending bill the Senate is considering.

Someone should give a clue to Senator Patti-Cakes. Women in the military are subject to the Uniform Code of Military Justice. They swear an oath to defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic, (which phrase might include Patti). They do not have the same rights as their civilian friends and neighbors.

Last month, the Republican-controlled House rejected a similar amendment. The vote this year was 215-202, largely along party lines, against lifting the restriction. The Senate is to vote on Murray's proposal today.

So, Dasshole apparently has the time to bring forth a vote on a known DOA issue that won't even make its way out of the lower house?

We'll need to remember this when he won't allow the partial-birth abortion ban that the House will send him later this year out of committee for a vote.

"However, service members are entitled to the same standard of care as everyone else outside of duty related health. Just because someone joins the military does not mean that they give up their human rights. "

I'm sure you mean well. Title Ten is where you want to go study. I don't know what you mean by human rights but please be assured that the UCMJ governs what happens to military folk not the US Constitution.

There is no such thing as a Constitutional right to an abortion.

If ONLY Patty's MOTHER had had the sense to ABORT PATTY, we'd be rid of this moron today. If this woman is your
Senator, kill yourself now and save the pain!

Briefly, during King Bubba's and the High Shrewness Hillary's co-regency, abortions were allowed in US military hospitals overseas. The problem for the pro-death feminoharpies was, no doctor or nurse could be ordered or forced to carry out an abortion, and it was almost impossible to find a military doctor or nurse who would willingly engage in the grisly practice.

The abortion trade is the scum-dumpster bottom of the medical profession. No minimally competent medical provider who has an ounce of decency and honor will undertake to be associated with it.

Murrymom is gone? Perhaps she's just locked in the dungeon of darkest depression following November 5. Like a frumpy, snaggle-toothed shemale Ahhnold, she'll be back.
