9 Reasons Why Abortions should be Illegal
http://www.mrdata.net ^ | Based on Planned Parenthood "Revised version March 1989." | http://www.mrdata.net

Posted on 06/13/2002 6:09:23 PM PDT by ATOMIC_PUNK

The format of this response is as follows: I have included every word of Planned Parenthood's original opinion. Planned Parenthood makes it's statement, then I refute it one paragraph at a time. In order to guarantee that my response is well separated from Planned Parenthood's original statement, I will color all of my responses blue. Also, all of Planned Parenthood's statements begin with a bullet. (Note: The following discussion is focused on the United States of America. Abortion should be fought in every country, but the circumstances of each country are different, and some of the below points may not apply to every country on Earth.)

I take it you're anti-choice, which is your decision to make just as it is for the pro-choice crowd.

If you believe women shouldn't have a choice then maybe you can send a copy of this to Barbara & Laura Bush.

Not all of us believe it is the Governments job to control what we do, say or think.....as of today this is still called freedom, tomorrow? who knows?

Compulsory pregnancy laws are incompatible with a free society.

Simply solution

Place a dime between your knees and hold it there without letting it drop.

Compulsory pregnancy laws??? Yeah, I think I have heard it all now.

If you believe women shouldn't have a choice....

You do have a choice except in the case of rape.

20 to 30 million women have had an abortion in the past 30 years. If you put 30 million women in prison for murdering their babies, times $30,000 per prison cell per year, plus the initial construction to build 50 million new prison cells, and the cost is more than what america can afford.

That's funny. The government already tells us that we can't murder, steal, lie (in court, contracts and on official papers), rape, kidnap, etc. If you do, you're punished. When you agree to get rid of these and become an anarchist, I'll take this argument seriously. Until then...

Since it's legal, where's the legal athority to put them in jail? However, if we made it illegal, and start putting those that did it in jail, it would become far more managable.

My only question is if women are responsible enough to make the abortion decision, than why are not responsible enough to not to be in that position in the first place?

Suzie_Cue, you are a typical Feminist, All you think about is You. All that matters is You. You want what you want, and you want when you want it.

Why does “pro-choice” only mean to have or not have an abortion. Why does it not mean to have or not have sex? Why does it not meant to be or not be responsible? Let’s face it abortion is birth control for irresponsible sluts.

Compulsory pregnancy laws are incompatible with a free society.

Wrong? Compulsory pregnancy means that you TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR ACTIONS. If we had more Christian women with principles, and less sluts, we would not have as many abortions.

Compulsory pregnancy means that you TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR ACTIONS

I think you are not understanding the word "Compulsory" in the Planned Parenthood position

In the article Planned Parenthood is claiming by outlawing abortions, pregnancy would become "Compulsory"

Of course "pregnancy means that you TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR ACTIONS"

The word "Consequences" is not in the Planned Parenthood dictionary. Since that word does not exist in their lexicon, they use the absurd concept of a pregnancy being "Compulsory" to justify their anti-life position

If you don't want to get pregnant, don't have sex or use a reliable contraceptive.

Real simple concept most people seem to overlook

Surveys of women aborting their babies indicate that 1% of them are doing so because of rape or incest.

And something like 90% of those that abort due to rape or incest REGRET the decision. It does not help in the healing process. Of course, those strong women who decided to carry the pregnancy to term and have the child are happy they chose to do so (not to mention the children are happy to be alive). They understand that it is not the child's fault they were conceived in such a way.

Yes suzie cue, but up until recently, most us have believed that IT IS government's role to pass laws against murder!

Would you mind if someone "chose" to kill you ? After all, "choice is the most important right.

I have never heard of a person who was "pro-life", changing and then deeply regretting their former position. I have only know people who were "pro-choice/murder", and then deeply regretting their former position and the actions associated actions. WHAT DOES THIS TELL YOU??!!

Sorry about that (overzealous opinionated keyboarding)

I have no problem with pro-lifers, it's the anti-abortionists (and there IS a difference) and their socialistic finger pointing at the rights of others.

If you don't believe abortion is right....Don't get one!!!
