Cuba trading bio-chem tech with Iran, Iraq, Syria

WASHINGTON — The United States has determined that Cuba is cooperating with such countries as Iran, Iraq, Syria, and Libya in the development of both biological and chemical weapons.

Assistant Secretary of State Carl Ford said Cuba both exports and imports weapons of mass destruction technology with Middle East rogue states. He said the United States has evidence of Cuban exports of dual-use biological weapons technology to Iran, Iraq, Syria and Libya.

"So that while I'm concerned about what Cuba and its biotechnological capability may be providing other countries like Iran," Ford told a Senate Foreign Relations subcommittee last week, "I'm also concerned about their associations with countries that also have a chemical or biological warfare capability." U.S. officials said Libya and Syria have chemical weapons facilities and are especially interested in advancing their nascent biological weapons programs, Middle East Newsline reported.

"There can be an exchange of ideas, exchange of capabilities and [the U.S. is] watching very carefully what they're up to in Iran and Iraq, Syria, Libya, wherever else they may be talking to people," Ford said. Ford, who heads the intelligence and research section of the State Department, said Cuba has not provided technology for the weaponization of biological or chemical agents.

Cuba is a signatory to the Biological Weapons Convention. Officials said Havana possesses limited offensive biological warfare research and development capabilities, in what appears to be a violation of the treaty.

I was watching 13 Days really early this morning around 4 am on Starz...never have seen it before. Costner is such an ass. Anyway, I was thinking to myself...all of this hand shaking we do with the Russians now and giving massive trade with China...we are in some big way digging our own grave.I mean this is not a new thought of mine but history speaks loud and Cuba is in no way harmless in my book.

Now wait a minute. If Carter told the world that Bush lied, and the Democrats want to get rid of Cuban sanctions.....who's side are they on, anyway?

Let's see. 10 nations will gather together in secret and destroy Babylon the Great. The country who forced political correctness on all others, the religion that places man above all other Gods. Hmmmm.
We have Cuba, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Libia, Pakistan, .....

Forcing someone to think contrary to their conscience, their culture, and their beliefs creates hate. Hate creates violence. Violence creates war.

We need to get out of the UN and the PC business but fast! The left wants this countrys strength, wealth and power removed. It looks like they're getting it the hard way, and they'll lose a lot more than they planned.

Looks like the Axis of Evil just got another training wheel.

Interesting choice of words given the fact that -- in the wake of the Soviet Union's bump of 1000% to terrorism in the mid sixties and the Tri-Continental Conference of 1967 in Havana -- Cuba indeed was prime training ground for the global network of militant revolution.

Which revolution "does not make sense without terror" ... if the likes of Trotsky and Lenin can be believed.

Following the move in 1993 by the State Department to place the Sudan on the list of state-sponsor terrorist nations Jimmy Carter appeared in Khartoum where he announced to one and all the State Department didn't know what it was talking about. In fact, Carter and his Carter Center did not know what THEY were talking about, and al-Qaida only benefitted from their stupidity. If Carter had stuck to curing river blindness in Africa he would be seen in a kindly light and might even have received a Nobel Prize. As it is, he is the "wrong-way Corrigen" of American politics.
