RALEIGH, N.C. -- The North Carolina Supreme Court denied a request Tuesday to temporarily block the enforcement of a state judge's redrawing of new legislative district maps.

The seven justices also rejected a motion asking to hear the case immediately.

Reading the article, I kept getting the idea that the writer was reffering to the SCOTUS, rather than the state supreme court.
