Shanghai, June 3 (Bloomberg) -- The world's airlines will probably post losses totaling $6 billion on international services this year as they struggle to return to profit after the Sept. 11 attacks, an industry body said.
Carriers had pretax losses of $12 billion last year on international routes, said Pierre Jeanniot, director general of the International Air Transport Association, in a speech to airline chief executive officers.

Since all the idiocy that is becoming routine at airports, I find myself driving more these days. I will not fly anywhere if I can reasonably get there in my car. Until the flying public wakes up and says NO MORE, and they start looking for terrorists, and not weapons (such as knitting needles, nail clippers, wire cutters for people with their jaws wired together, etc), I'm happy to be behind the wheel of my car.
