Militants Recruiting Young Dutch Muslims for Foreign War
New York Times ^ | 5/30/02 | MARLISE SIMONS

PARIS, May 30 — A network of Islamic militants has been recruiting young Muslim immigrants at mosques in the Netherlands, urging them to join the "holy war" in places like Afghanistan or Kashmir, the Dutch Internal Security Agency said in a report this week.

The agency is also investigating reports that groups with links to Al Qaeda have instructed their Dutch Muslim followers that they should join the Dutch Army in order to get military training.

But Sybrand van Hulst, the director of the Dutch Internal Security Agency, said at a news conference this week that there was as yet no evidence that the recruiters themselves were from Al Qaeda. Rather, he said, they were apparently from the Algerian Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat and other groups from the Middle East.

As evidence of ongoing recruitment, the agency disclosed that two Dutch-born sons of Moroccan parents were found dead in January in Kashmir, where they had apparently joined Muslim rebels fighting against India. The agency said the two men — Ahmed el-Bakiouli, 20, and Khalid el-Hassnaoui, 21 — had been killed by Indian security forces, who told the Dutch that the men were suicide fighters who had tried to kill Indian border guards.

The two men, both high school graduates but not soldiers, were the first Dutch Muslims known to be involved directly with Islamic fighters.

In recent weeks, the Dutch police have also arrested as many as 10 young men suspected of links with armed militants, but they were foreign nationals who had been in the country only briefly.

The disclosures come at a time of growing public concern in the Netherlands about the recent large influx of Muslim immigrants, who make up close to 6 percent of the population. Most of them are from Morocco, Turkey and Suriname, countries where Islam is largely moderate.

They also coincide with government concern about the activities of fundamentalist teachers at Islamic schools, which it has said receive funds from foreign Muslim foundations, in particular from Saudi Arabia.

In recent months, the government has stepped up its surveillance of religious and political groups in schools and mosques, a government official said. Some of the Islamic schools are teaching anti-Western attitudes, the official said, for instance that Muslims should battle people until they believed that Allah is the only God.

It's hard to think people cannot see one long front that stretches from the jungles of the phillipines westwards, through the mountains of kashmir and chechnya, to israeli cities and eventually, here, to NYC and DC.

Well, those Indian border guards got these scumbags, but good.

"The two men, both high school graduates but not soldiers, were the first Dutch Muslims known to be involved directly with Islamic fighters."

Like cockroaches, you can be sure for every two you squash, there's a hundred hiding behind the walls that you can't see. "The disclosures come at a time of growing public concern in the Netherlands about the recent large influx of Muslim immigrants, who make up close to 6 percent of the population. Surinam?!

"They also coincide with government concern about the activities of fundamentalist teachers at Islamic schools, which it has said receive funds from foreign Muslim foundations, in particular from Saudi Arabia."

The Wahabbi troublemakers are at it again...almost every day I see just how right Steve Emerson is.

"In recent months, the government has stepped up its surveillance of religious and political groups in schools and mosques, a government official said. Some of the Islamic schools are teaching anti-Western attitudes, the official said, for instance that Muslims should battle people until they believed that Allah is the only God."

Well, then, they can go right back to Moronocco and teach that garbage there...but not in our countries.

Speaking of the Dutch, you all remember that popular Islamic calendar for the month of September 2001 with a picture of a plane crashing, Statue of Liberty, NY skyline in the background? Refresh your memory by going to this article. (The original Dutch article is a dead link or I would have posted that too.)
NewsMax.com: "REPORT: CALENDAR SHOWED PLANE CRASHING NEAR MANHATTAN" (September 27, 2001

BIG GIANT BROAD HINT TO THE CIA: Why don't you put operatives disguised as students into this militant recruitment area and see what you can find out before a new calendar comes out!

Yes, islam is large in Surinam. And Hinduism and Bhuddism too. A lot of different people went to Surinam (many Indonesians) to work there when it was still under Dutch control.

Why the Osama video is real: the Holland connection (Dutch Jihad Walkers MUST READ)

When the US government released the tape where Osama bin Mohammed bin Laden boasted about the 9/11 attacks, too many people said it was a fake. They said it was manufactured by the CIA and so on. But why did OBL mention Holland? He said:

Some of them said that in Holland, at one of the centers, the number of people who accepted islam during the days that follwed the operations were more than the people who accepted islam in the last eleven years.

Why would anybody who wanted to make a fake tape include such information? Why would they want to mention Holland, a small country, most people do not even know where Holland is located. And when you check the number of people who turned muslim, there is no increase. The information seems to be incorrect. Why would anybody put this in, while it only confuses everybody. I do not think the tape is false, the detail about Holland is too tiny to mention in a fake.

So what is OBL talking about?

When I translated an article about a Dutchman who converted to islam, the answer came to me. In the article a guy named Van de Ven he said there are two versions of islam, one most muslims do, and the one he and OBL do, the fundamentalistic one.

In the video OBL was not saying that the total number of muslims grew, he was takling about the people that already were muslim and turned extremistic muslim! At that time only OBL and the people inside the organisations could have known this. And OBL knows about Holland because of the links with four fundamentalistic organizations in Holland. Links these organisations have with Saudi-Arabia.

- end -

Also on a Dutch forum for Moroccans there was the call for joining the military, shooting ranges and martial arts clubs in preperation for a jihad. On the same forum a guy was selling weapons to people for usage in this jihad.

The BVD investigated the site, www.maroc.nlm and pretended it ment nothing. The man selling weapons only had an AK-47 (as if this makes it less worse).

And guess what, one of the kids that got shot in Kashmir posted 712 messages on this forum in topics like 'support the Taliban'. On the Maroc.nl forum he also said he wanted to and join the Taliban.

They never made it to the Taliban because at the border they were sent back. So they decided to go and jihad some Indians.

Of course everyone is denying everything, that they were tourists and stuff.

But when you go to the link, there is this Abdul van der Ven, the Islam youth-imam is disgusted of "Cancer-Holland" guy. He knew the Moroccan boy I was talking about.

The boy lived near Eindhoven, where this Van der Ven lives too. Also the Saudi Arabian linked foundations are there too.

Another link: the Belgian police asked the Dutch police to arrest a man connected to the murder of Masud (the Northern Alliance commander). They guy was arrested in Eindhoven!

Too much coincidence.

Apparently Mr. van Hulst does not read Ananova. If Mr. van Hulst did read Ananova, he would know that THERE IS A POSSIBLE LINK BETWEEN AL QAEDA AND THE ALGERIAN SALAFIST GROUP FOR PREACHING AND COMBAT. After reading this article, I suggest Mr. van Hulst should contact the Metropolitan Police and Scotland Yard for further information.

My German Shepherd could have seen this one.

Wherever you have young male Moslems, you have many who will be the "Johnny Jihads" of their nations. BBC has reported extensively on this crap at the start of U.S. operations in Afghanistan - of young Brit Moslems volunteering for the side their own nation is fighting against - and most are Brit-born sons of immigrants, not immigrants themselves.

This is a *really good point* and one which many people miss. The same thing is going on in Bosnia, in Dagestan, in Chechen, even in Pakistan. There are many Muslims which are not really fanatical, not interested in non-stop "jihad," and whose interpretation of Islam is far "looser," more mystical, more like "folk-Islam" than the Wahhabi fanatics of Saudi Arabia (like Al Qaeda.)

These Muslims who don't follow Wahhabism are the *first* to get crushed like bugs when the Wahhabis decide to take over a country or region. There's only one kind of Islam as far as the Wahhabis are concerned, and the so-called "moderate" Muslims are virtually as bad as infidels.

The Wahhabis (with Saudi oil money) sponsor mosques, community centers etc. all over Europe & the US. They do attract "cultural," "ethnic-heritage" Muslims who don't find the West to be the "paradise" they thought it would be. These young men are looking for trouble and they find it in spades in these mosques, which basically do nothing but preach sedition and armed overthrow of the government, whether it be Dutch, English, French, or the US.

No, I don't think he can be arrested for anything. I doubt there is any evidence against people like him. Also the Dutch security service AIVD (used to be BVD) does not track either islamic terrorism or left-based activism like it should.

You are right. Just look at Algeria and Egypt. There the islam extremists bomb their fellow muslims because they are too moderate.
