Did anyone else see this??
Reporter(?) During a live press conference in France with the French President and President Bush, David Something, a twerp from either CNN or MSNBC, questioned President Bush about the hoard of protestors upon his arrival in Europe, then he said four words in French..
Bushie totally abused him! Loved it!President was plenty p----d and tore him a new one in his usual tough, witty, charming and ruthless manner. Can't get it back-Was at BBC site-Live Coverage.

Saw the conference. I liked Wubya's Spanish response and his aside about being bilingual as well.
More importantly, President Bush is becoming more adroit at these news conferences. Now if we can correct that darn "nuc U lur" pronunciation, the DemonRats won't stand a chnace in Nov!

The reporter asked his question in English, and then asked in French for Chirac to answer the same question. Bush joked at the reporter along the lines of 'hey, nice job learning those four words. I guess that make you international now.'

So what exactly did W tell the reporter? The reporter (familiar face, don't remember the name, from CNN, I believe) asked Bush about the protesters, then said a few words to Chirac in French (Bush had been remarking that Chirac wasn't getting any questions). Bush said something like "Wow, the guy memorizes four words and thinks he's intercontinental.".
He managed to make it sound like a rebuke and good-natured ribbing at the same time--pretty good delivery on W's part.

Actually I thought the president seemed a little off his game today.

Very good! Guess that reporter never heard of the "Don't Mess with Texas" slogan!

It was David Gregory from msnbc. You have to see it. He started out by saying four words in French, then proceeded to ask the question about the protesters. Bush chastized him about memorizing four words in French, then said two words in Spanish or French,( can't remember) and said "there I'm bilingual like you", or something to that effect. Then Bush said he say the thousands lining the streets waving etc. and admonished him again for only seeing the negative. It was priceless. French president went on to say that protesters were a very small number and was good to have protesters to hear other point of view.

The reporter's name is David Gregory.
President Bush said:" What is this, Gregory? You memorize a few words and suddenly you're intercontinental?"

Another take.
Xlinton came to office being touted as as Rhodes Scholar and highly intelligent person. Gore was a "published" environmental advocate. They went on to prove just how DUMB they really were/are.
Meanwhile Wubya continues to grow in office/stature/respect.
Guess what? America loves a come from behind winner. The liberal media painted Bush into that low "demeaning" position and as he continues to be perceived as a Statesman/Leader/Respected Executive their efforts are thwarted and he is thrust "on high!" {woof, got carried away!}

Geesh! I wish I could have seen and heard that. Thanks for the posts.

I was so angry at the "idiot" trying to make our President look bad then President Bush came back with his remark. He shot that reporter down beautifully with just a few words. It was truly a wonderful moment.....

HA! A nice zinger by the President to the odious David Gregory, the monkey boy, from MSNBC:
Gregory asked a question implying that all of Europe was against the US and wanted to know why the President thought there were all those demonstrators. He then spoke a few phrases to President Chirac in French, grandstanding, of course.
President Bush said:" What is this, Gregory? You memorize a few words and suddenly you're intercontinental?"
HAHAHAHAHA!!

I saw this little exchange, but didn't realize what it was about or who the reporter was. What I do know is that Dubya got the hearty laughs from the audience for his responses to the reporter.
