The remains police found yesterday in Washington's Rock Creek Park are indeed those of erstwhile Washington intern and Gary Condit galpal Chandra Levy. This means, as the Modesto Bee reports, that the "missing-person case ended and a death investigation began." "Still to be determined," according to an online article posted yesterday by the Washington Post, "is the cause of death--what killed Levy--and as importantly, whether she was the victim of foul play." Well, 24-year-old women do not often drop dead suddenly from natural causes.

Off the trial, down a ravine.

In the 55 weeks that Chandra was missing, many people suspected--falsely, it now appears--that Gary Condit was behind her disappearance

That's quite a leap there.

Considering the fact that most murders are committed by someone known to the victim, this is an incredible leap.

Other Chandra news:
Chandra captures remnant of star-shattering explosion

NASA PHOTO RELEASE Posted: May 23, 2002

This "true color" Chandra image of N132D shows the beautiful, complex remnant of an explosion of a massive star in the Large Magellanic Cloud, a nearby galaxy about 180,000 light years from Earth. The colors represent different ranges of X-rays, with red, green, and blue representing, low, medium, and higher X-ray energies respectively.

Supernova remnants comprise debris of a stellar explosion and any matter in the vicinity that is affected by the expanding debris. In the case of N132D, the horseshoe shape of the remnant is thought to be due to shock waves from the collision of the supernova ejecta with cool giant gas clouds. As the shock waves move through the gas they heat it to millions of degrees, producing the glowing X-ray shell.

The most disturbing thing to me in this article is that they're quoting Jake Tapper, uber left wing windbag mouthpiece of the DNC as a legit source. Was someone from the Globe or Enquirer not available for comment?

Occam's razor demands that we favor the simplest explanation: that Levy did not know her killer and was the victim of a random crime

Except that most victims know their killers. Therefore, Occam's razor demands that we favor the simplest explanation: She was killed by someone she knew and had an intimate relationship with.

And, this is the Clinton legacy. Who in their right mind would allow their daughters to come to D.C. and work for these pigs? No way, no how, brown cow. Ain't gonna happen long as they live in my house.

Wasn't there a "massive search" by the DC police, FBI, etc? It now appears that she was right under their ..noses.. all the time? Something doesn't smell right here! We can't take any more incompetence from the insurers of our safety.

you assume they were incomptetant. I assume they couldn't find the body until it was moved there at a later date.

I mentioned this on another thread - what better place to dispose of a body than a place that had been thoroughly searched.

Falsely, indeed.

Condit demanded that his b*****s leave their purses and identification items behind when they met with him.

Chandra left her purse and drivers license at her apartment on the day she went to the Rock Creek Park .

I wonder who she could possibly have thought she was meeting?

" Occam's razor demands that we favor the simplest explanation: that Levy did not know her killer and was the victim of a random crime."

Yet another brilliant "super sleuth" and the "Occam's razor" bit.

This may become as common an utterance as "Gravitas".

And we ridicule the D.C. Police for their ineptness?

"In the 55 weeks that Chandra was missing, many people suspected--falsely, it now appears--that Gary Condit was behind her disappearance."

And now that you have all the information you are likley to get...........move along!

Thank you Mr.James Taranto.

Occam's razor demands

Actually, Occam's razor is too dull in the face of so few useful facts.
