KARACHI, Pakistan (AP) Foreigners in Pakistan are falling victim to bombings and other savage attacks, and the country's Shiite Muslim minority is being terrorized by death squads.

Pakistani officials and analysts blame the surge in violence on al-Qaida fugitives from Afghanistan and their radical Pakistani allies. The intention appears to be to sow chaos in hopes of undermining the government of Gen. Pervez Musharraf for supporting the U.S.-led war on terrorists.

Wish everybody would settle on a convention for spelling al-qaida or al-qaeda or al-queerd. These nutty radical sunnis really hate the shiites as heretics.

On Monday, Pakistan's government promised $167 million for development projects in the remote, backward tribal belt along the Afghan border, seeking to placate the area's pro-Taliban leaders as the U.S.-led war against terrorism spreads to their lands.

I bet that $167 million came from us! This is the northwestern part of the country. The report also talks about extremist havens in the Southern region of Karachi. What part of this country does Musharraf have control over?

I'd rather spend the money on tactical nukes in the area of the renegade tribal groups that are aiding al-queda. Then drop a couple in the bekka valley of lebanon for the jihad and hamas people.

Save us a lot of US soldiers lives and grief. Certainly put the fear of A*&^h into all of them. A little 'irrationality' goes a long way when dealing with irrationals.
